I got a DEB about a week ago....... Anybody know a good workout with this thing? It's great for footwork, but I'm wondering if there are "traditional" workouts for them that I should be looking at instead of the trial and error I've been doing with it.

There's a vid on youtube of roy jones jr working it at the same time as 2 other guys.

Don't want to hang the thing too loose or too tight.
My concept of "too loose" means the thing takes almost as long as a heavybag to come back.
My concept of "too tight" means the thing barely comes off your gloves.

You want it to be able to pop you on the back swing if you hit it hard and leave your head in the same place.

Work head movement, work combos (be able to rapid fire off a combo without missing), and work tracking - hit the bag on the move, don't just hit it when it's set.
One of my favorite things to do with the mexican style one was to fire a hard cross, slip the bag coming back, and land a counter body hook as it starts to swing forward again.

I don't care much for the DB bag, though it is better than the speed bag.
its great to work your evasions and even face conditioning ;)

that one was similar to how i do it, looks like a great vid.
only slight difference is that the one i used to use, i remember having to get out of the way or i'd get caught by the bag swinging back (not sure if that means a different length or a looser bag).

the one i was talking about was this:

it's not good.

These aren't bad:
(has some of the swing I was talking about):

Thanks Chop...

According to the last one my bag is hung correctly, good to know.

The Mosley clip was nice..... his bag is smaller than mine, but those combos and feints he's doing give me something to *attempt* to work up to...

nice
i usually spend a lil more time using head movement to slip the bag and fire a hook on it's way out; but i like it - I think i miss a lot more than you do. hehe

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. If I throw 5 punches at it, at least one of them is going to miss. But I'm using it for more of a footwork and coordination trainer than a focus target. I guess once I feel more comfortable with these then I'll get more concerned about making contact 100% of the time.

Thanks for the clip Abel
