Thought some may find this interesting. The below patents are self defense/offense based weapons that were developed by during World War Two by three of the great combative self defense instructors of the time.
The first one is Bernard Cosnecks the "Armette". He was the one who taught combat judo to Dempsey and was featured in his 1942 book called How to Fight Tough and was the author of his own work called American Combat Judo in 1944 and was a winner of the big ten wrestling championship back in 1932 and 1934.
