thanks...sorry, I wasn't specific enough.

Anyone have any other sources for the type and size of MB that Dynamax produces? I can't quite tell from the website but the lighter weights seem to be of a more similar diameter to the larger weighted balls whereas in the leather/rubber MB's the diameter gets smaller as the weight goes down.

You can make your own if you want, just get a basketball, cut a slit in it, fill with sand, duct tape the crap out of it and voila, instant badass medicine ball.

ok, but it will weight a lot

what do you think of dynamax's philosophy?

It can weight as much or as little as you want, a basketball filled with sand will probably way quite a bit.
I had one that was filled with sand and I used to hag it up and use it as a target for strikes and stick work.
Of course it died and I get it a fine funeral, I have yet to make a new one though ( lazy ******* that I am) Right now I have a 15kg one I use.

They are great for training the GnP too by the way.

right...but for the movement based exercises that I like from the dynamax website as well as the MB exercises from crossfit, the emphasis seems to be on lighter weight to get the exercises correct and insure that you are able to work at a high velocity. and, when you drop to a 4,6 or 8 pound standard MB you are getting pretty small and harder to catch...not that training to catch a small object is bad for MA training but I'm not necessarily looking to be sport specific at this point...trying to get a different, interesting workout program going for myself and my students.

In that case I would get balls of different sizes, volley balls and such.
You can play around with the weight by adding sand to the weight you want and filling the rest with saw dust or rags, whatever, know what I mean?

we did the walking throw, the twisting throw and the foot press/kick last night as our warmup
