my 2 cents.....regardless of where you buy it... pick up Lost Oddessy its a great traditional Japanese style RPG from the creators of Final Fantasy and it is breathtaking.... Not a revolutionary game but certainly a masterpiece...Oh yeah Mass Effect too...if you like Sci-fi...

craigslist usually has a few used xbox's pretty cheap. I got one a few weeks back that was listed as having a drive that could not read disks. It came with a 20g hard drive, one controller, power and av cables, and halo 3.
I took it home, opened it up, used an air can to spray out a load of soot (the owner was for sure a huge smoker, either that or the xbox was next to a fire pit.)
I used a lens wipe to clean the DVD lens (had to remove the DVD drive and open it up, but was super easy)

long story short, it works now and the bundle cost me $105.00. I also got another unit a week prior to that with a drive that wouldn't open for $60.00 (no controller or HDD or games included), got that one to work as well . Later I got deals on 2 controllers and an HDD. SO all in all I got two 360's with a good game for $265.00. It's a risk because I would assume at least 1/4 of the cheap used ones sold on craigslist don't work. My buddy got grifted for on for $135.00, no HDD, no controllers. I'm trying to fix it now. Anyway good luck

I still like Halo3 best especially for multiplayer and ease of controls. Bioshock is possible #1 seed as well though. And eventhough old Star Wars Battlefronts II is great. GTA IV = overhyped.

I used to agree with statement...used to...I have both a 360 and a ps3 and a custom built PC I made as well as a Macbook Pro laptop so as you can see I am not a slave to any particular piece of tech .

The thing is ----I changed my opinion because console games are definitely on par with PC nowadays, but at fraction of the cost. With rare exceptions like Crysis...
Now speaking of Crysis, if you wanted to play this direct X10 beast on settings that would do it justice you would have to spend at least 1500$ on building the tower alone.Or 2000 grand plus on built machine if you don't know how to build a PC. Oh and plus PC gaming is really kinda lame at the moment if you ask me, If your not hooked on some MMO most of the PC only stuff has been kinda shoddy lately with a few exception....

but I digress kidz...I still love my PC too(thx Witcher:)....ohhhhhhhhhhh and Diablo 3 is alive and coming soon to ruin your weekly training schedules...:D

I used to think that same way, I hadnt had a console in years. But then I realized, there are just some bad ass games that you cannot get on PC. thus the console.

ya im looking forward to d3. the demo vid looks pretty fun.

ive been playing this game age of conan with some buddies. its pretty neat, you can decapitate other players or dismember them. stuff like that.

its all bloody and violent and fun. the only problem is that it cant hold my attention for too long, so after playing gta4 at a friends house, i decided to go get that.

super fun game imo so far.

ya dude, get this, in that conan game your clan or what ever builds a city. in tiers, one tier takes something like 20thousand pieces of granite, yew, iron, etc.

talk about tedious. its like working to play a **** game lol. luckily the floor is close for pushups and sit ups when sitting there gets to be un comfortable.

oh, and luckily I have no social life.

Maybe when it first came out, but the graphics cards have dropped in price extremely rapidly. Could put together a Crysis capable machine for almost PS3 price now if you don't need to buy a new monitor and speakers.

Not at all. I go out a lot, but I am anti social. Not figuratively, actaully. I cant stand people. even when i go out i prefer to do activities alone or maybe with one friend.

i gave up dating years ago. its a waste of my time, ill wait till the right woman comes along now. Im perfectly comfortable being alone, and have been for some time now.

I said running the game on setting that do it justice and by that I mean full quailty high setting. Dual cards on Sli --quad core etc...No $400 PC tower is gonna run Crysis anywhere near that plus The PS3 is also a Bluray Disc player so really when it comes down to money the smart choice is clearly the consoles. I like X360 equally too BTW I am not biased they're both pretty sweet little machines.

One thing that keeps gaming on consoles going strong as of late is simply exclusive console titles Like Metal Gear Solid 4 and the one I'm playing right now Lost Oddessy. People play for the game not the machine it's on. I'm glad I got the 360 after my PS3 cause some of Xbox only stuff is really great, and I got to replay Fable and finally beat it too...woot!

Clearly it's all about the games themselves , if PC doesn't offer it are you could miss out on some amazing titles.:o At any rate I digress ....This thread is making want to stay home tonight and play X360 instead of training tonight and I know that's a bad idea....

i got a xbox 360. way better then a ps3. more online support and a bigger community. games like final fantasy 13 and metal gear solid 4 are coming out for xbox 360 cause there are more of those in america. overall its a better system then the ps3. if you want amazing graphics then go buy the ps3. but a lot of us old schoolers know graphics dont make a game.
