This has been requested a few times over the years. The answer always is that this is the general OT area....

I personally like things just the way they are.

but still we really need an actual OT board. i been here a super long time. since it was KFO. like alot of people here. and it wasn't this bad with the OT there. i mean the flames wars are stories to tell your grand children but they all had to do with martial arts.

what lucas said

hows about doing search for 'we need an OT board/forum' i'm too tired to look and post links to all the requests and the original statement from Gene on the subject.

maybe Gene should officially add it to the rules

in a sense... devoting topics related to non martial arts would amount to kung fu in relation to the amount of time and energy involved conversing about them... so therefore they could rightly be placed in the kung fu forum.

uh, why not just everyone go to political forums instead of coming here?

debate, or rather attacking each other for political affiliations is quite pointless here.

venting is everywhere, but if you want to focus your venting about american politics, then this place is way off from where it is appropriate to do so.

cest la vie.

Maybe kungfu isn't as deep as everyone thinks it is and people have just run out of things to talk about :p

I tend to agree with that. If we got a dedicated OT section, then the Kung Fu board would die.

This is the "Kung Fu" board because it is where "Kung Fu" people gather to discuss and talk, not because the "Topic" is necessarily Kung Fu.

I wouldn't say that, but I would say that this is what it has become. It's organic and dependent upon members to contribute. Even if some of those members are multiple account holders who revel in having conversations with themselves. :p
