Why are you propagating this stuff? That's either child abuse or assault on a minor neither of which is worth posting.

I first saw this on the news. This isn't some random clip from youtube. I understand why this may strike a sour note. You do bring up valid points and something like this, with all the joking aside from the others, raises some serious issues. It was my intention to try and bring this topic up from a less serious angle to offset the gravity of the subject matter.

I just noticed the combo the dude threw and figured it would make a good conversation. But you'll have to expect (and I always do) that there will be people here who will say something that may be inappropriate.

But it is an investigation in progress. It seems the story is not as widespread as I thought it was.

Here is an article (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/09/30/state/n223511D57.DTL&tsp=1)

Man beats girl over who was first at McDonald's

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

(10-01) 06:49 PDT LOS ANGELES (AP) --

Los Angeles police are looking for a man who beat up a 16-year-old girl at a McDonald's counter after she complained about him cutting in line.

Police announced their investigation Tuesday night and posted surveillance video online.

Police say the girl, her 5-year-old niece and a friend were standing in line on Sept. 14 at the McDonald's in South Los Angeles. The suspect and two young boys then approached the counter when the 16-year-old started arguing with the man over who was first in line.

Police say the girl swore at the man, who then got angry and punched her in the face several times.

The suspect left with the boys in a red pickup truck.

The teenager was treated for her injuries at a hospital and released.

wonder if this person trained with dugas?WTF? Why are you bringing up someone who isn't even on the thread with irrelevant libel? Is childishness behind someone's back part of sticking it to the establishment?

if it's worth recording, it's worth watching.Bull****! Are you saying the same goes for child porn? Snuff?

I just noticed the combo the dude threw and figured it would make a good conversation.Dude, one push punch and one poke on a girl who isn't fighting back don't make a combo, good or otherwise. Get to ****! WTF kind of a conversation are you going to have about that?

Uki, either you haven't given this much thought or you haven't seen enough internet videos to know better. And I'm not talking about the internet videos your mother told you not watch.

Looked more like a CHEAP shot than anything. He got angry for being posted up about cutting the line. Anyone who isn't fighting back would get beat up, whether it be a young female or whoever. The disparage in size and strength is one of the obvious things that makes this video difficult to watch. Don't get so emotional dude.

Save it for those on this forum who want to make wisecracks.

**Why don't you quote the part where I mentioned the "gravity of the subject matter" before you try to get in my face? It's currently under investigation so I'm sure there will be some closure for you once this case has been solved.**

Well, if you're not impressed by the combination, then how about this;

The actions of the male in the video can be a commentary for our society (among the many other commentaries...so stick to the video for now) and how people, for whatever reason will use violence as a means to an end. Apparently, no one is spared...in this case a young teenage female who got hurt over something as frivolous as a place in line at a fast food joint. The sheer brute force used in the attack was so shocking and unnecessary.

So then, there were also witnesses who didn't do anything. The perpetrator in question simply walked out of the place with no one attempting to stop him. That speaks volumes, doesn't it?

The young female is someone's daughter and/or sister. A leisurely trip to get some lunch from one of America's favorite fast food establishments turns into a scene from a crime drama.

As far as details go, the article I posted has only a little info of the account. Maybe there'll be more info relayed to us later on. For now, the video is being shown all over the news stations.

Is that enough food for thought Mr. Punch?

holy heck... perhaps my ideas of jest are too much for the thin skin in here. good thing it wasn't one of my kids getting whacked. as for the worth recording, worth watching comment... some things are worth recording, other things are not. this was worth it... child porn is not. preying on children is the gravest mistake one can make in life.:)

Don't know where that fits.
It is a sensitive subject. To jest is one thing but to be obnoxious is another.

It was worth recording in order to ID the perp. Too many people think they can get away with anything nowadays. It's only a matter of time.

Just my take on this:

This guy will go to jail for a while however.......

You don't know who is crazy these days. Here's some big guy this girl does not know. He breaks in front of her in line and she calling him a MFer?

This kinda reminds me of a story a friend told me about a road rage incident where some girl got out of her car and conforted a man who had just cut her off by getting up in his face. I asked my friend what would have happened if the guy had of decided to use her head as a basketball on the concrete?

If nothing else she might learn to keep her mouth shut in the future.

Its totally her fault, it might even be better if it happened to someone you know, so you could really teach her the importance of taking it like a man. Maybe if we could all teach them to shut their mouths in the future! Eh?

No girls/ladies that I know are stupid enough to get in the face of a total stranger and start using language like that. And yes, right or wrong, it is a good idea to keep your mouth shut at times.......That is unless you care to be "in the right" with maybe a broken jaw and a concussion.

uki, what shall you do if your son decides to become a police officer at some eventuality in his life and then furthermore gets killed in the line of duty? what shall you say then i wonder?

I am curious, but, do you think he will deserve it? Or is it different when it is a member of your family?

how to stay cool in a heated situation.

1. temper control, have a punching bag at home. punch away all of your frustration and stress.

2. if you still lose it (temper), try hit some furniture or even against the walls etc

the bottomline is not to hit people.

soon or later you may fatally injure a person just b/c you lose your temper.

jailtime or more for manslaughter, not worth it at all.

--

some solutions for the dude that slang the fist.

try drive thru window, or go to a different macdonald that serves faster or with a shorter line.

you want your burger fast and not to go to jail fast.

It would be a difficult thing for a person who is not normally a model of self control. Either it was ego or just a bad attitude, he attacked first. Must be a simple minded person to let plain curse words ignite his temper...eh?

Drive through is only a temporary solution. They might drive their car right through said establishment.

uki, what shall you do if your son decides to become a police officer at some eventuality in his life and then furthermore gets killed in the line of duty? i'd be willing to say that he will not grow up to become a police officer... but if he does and is killed in the line of duty... i will accept the facts and move on. i am sure it will be devasting, but all things happen for a reason.

what shall you say then i wonder?perhaps you can re-read my first response... you seem to ask the same question with multiple approaches to it.

I am curious, but, do you think he will deserve it?we all get what we have coming to us...

nope. no difference.

The future's not ours to see, you can't know anything of what will come of your boy.
Do we all get what's coming to us? Are you sure?
Do all things happen for a reason? Are you certain?

I don't need to re-read your stance in regards to the question I just asked you. I read it, and i understood clearly the content the first time. I do wonder if you are clear on that position though.

From that video I can't tell why this happened, or who cut who in line if at all.

I see a small girl confronting a large man, with somewhat of confrontational body language.

It wasn't right, and the man should be ashamed. But kids today could use that lesson. When I was young on the playground we didn't mouth off to the older kids, they would beat us.

Someone got shot about two months ago up the block from me for something similar. An incident over the bathroom. Reality can get real, real quick.
