Greetings,

The following is the article by Hwarangdo Master Bob Duggan on the Spinning heel kick. This was the way I learned it many years ago from another Korean style Sensei:

Thanks for the article. I read it, but not sure I understood it. Videos seem to be a better vehicle if they are available.

Greetings,

I did find video footage on youtube. The guy has the correct breakdown; yet, his technique starts to compromise toward the end of the video. It is as if he learned the lean back method before he learned the proper way to do it. Notice how he accelerates into the target:

How not to do it:

This performer leans away from the target flatlining the power of the toruing action.

My second last word on previous post is "torquing." I am having trouble editing my posts.

I'd say that the one of most merit was the sambo clip: sorta set the guy up w/the low leg kick, got him to move into the spinning heel; the second one was a good kick, something about the way he moved got the guy to drop his hand; third one was TKD, where no one keeps their hands up at all, and the guy who got KO'd just moved in w/out any game plan

One of the things I always liked about you, you "get it".

the second clip-the kick was sort a cross between a straight back kick, and a spinning hook (wheel) kick. It didn't come just around, but at a tighter angle that "snuck" inside and through his guard. I like that.

The TKD kick-beautifully timed. Like Lee against O'Hara in ETD!
The kid in blue might've been shuffling in for a kick-definately shuffled, didn't even get his kick off.
