Namasté to all my TCPM brothers,

ShaolinMantis suggested this:

quote:
C.C.K. Sigung's classmates: ( at least three )

Jeung Siu Mo
Lei Chun Cheun
Wong Juk Yuen

these people may have been his sihing's.
Someone maybe able to do some tracking from this.
This might have been the case.

quote:
It would seem that Gong Hap Lung, (Taiji Mei Hwa)taught> Yam Fung Sui, who taught> the above people and Chiu Chuk Kai. They also learned from Chi Sau Jun ( Taiji Mantis ).
This would seem to be the case. In most of the literature of TCPM, it's always ambiguious as to Sigung Learned from both Master Yam and Master Chi. One version suggested that Master Yam and Chi both learned from Master Sun who is Taiji Mantis. They both taught at Master Sun's Kwoon after Sun's death. Later Master Chi (for no apparent reason given) left to open his own Kwoon. It is also suggested that Master Chi was the patriarch holder (Jeung Moon) of Taiji Mantis, but no mentioning of Master Yam's status. This needs to be look at further.

quote:
Yam Fung Sui also taught So Hak Ban & Wong Gok the Mei Hwa style.

Some of these name may look somewhat different from some others listing it would be becuase of the pin yin, yale, translation writing.
It is also suggested that the reason, which Sigung decided to go to Master Chi, was to learn the applications of the forms, which were the specialty of Master Yam. The wording was quite vague in this area. Again, this need to be looked at further.

quote:
Reading this chart that there has been a couple of splits and joins during the history of taiji Mantis.

Wong Long taught> Hau Ji Yuen and Hau Git Mantis. these people started ( maybe their own styles )
Ma Keung learned from both . Leung Shi Heung 4th generation learned from Ma Keung. on the 5th generation Suen Yuen Cheung ( or Chang) went Taiji Mantis, Gong Hap Lung went Taiji Mei Hwa
Master Hau Ji Yuen and Master Hau Git were brothers (it could be first cousins (?) kind of thing in Chinese, because in Chinese Father's brother's son is consider like your very own brother.) In normal circumstance, there would be no need to say that Hau Ji Yuen taught Hau Git ,who became the second generation, if they were from the same father. If it is a first cousin (?) and a "valuable skill" is involved than it became important to make that clear. Master Hau Git would have to "Bye Si" regardless of the relation. It is also important to remember that Hau Ji Yuen was known for his TaiJo Long Fist. Taiji Mantis does seem to have quite a bit of TaiJo Long Fist influence. Seven Stars, on the other hand, seems to have more Eagle Claw influence.

Well, more things to chew on gang and lets fire away.
