after seeing that (again, thanks ), you would think maybe Lacy wouldn't be too miffed about being "disowned"...

It's not good anytime a disagreement voluntarily goes public (especially in a medium like Youtube).

I was kinda amaze to see a guy who calls himself a "Grandmaster" dishonor himself in such a way.

lol @ both these guys for airing their laundry in public.
They both seem to not understand much about Kungfu though.
I gotta say.

Not that I am great, but these guys suck.

I think it is funny.

I personally couldn't care less about thier little world, as I do not live in it, but there are times when things need to be publicly stated. If someone is making fraudulent claims in public and involving you or your name, you need to publicly respond.

That said, who knows what is going on between those two, and in all honesty, it's just a corny comedy act to me. What I am most amazed with is that there are actually characters like that, that really exist outside of Cartoons.

He does look like something straight out of central casting.

The Bow is the same as a Southern Tai Tzu. I bet it's a legit Hakka set, just done with no understanding of the proper body mechanics that define the Hakka styles.

For this first clue to how bad this really is, watch his feet.

not to mention the fact that his shoulders are up by his ears a large part of the time, and he holds his neck / head very rigid; as RD points out, he totally lacks the whole mechanics that you would typically see w/this sort of "style", that undulating, spinal wave-like movement characteristic of bok mei, dragon, etc.

Also, the eyes do not follow the direction of the hand...oops I just gave away a huge kung fu secret (and my delete and backspace key suddenly stopped working.)

Yeah, you are right about that. it's like no one ever told him there is a difference between properly "Rounding", and just hunching.

Wow. Why not just do pistols (one legged squats) by yourself and actually get a full range of motion and actually work your quads rather than that 1/4 squat stuff?

Maybe I just don't see the "high level" application.

The rule is

"there can only be one"

Unless of course, and this is important, that you want to start a TV show and you can't get the original actor, in which case you create two. But, of course, the second "one" must sort of look and act and talk like the original "one"

I almost hate to put this thread back on top...

But I broke a coconut last night. The kids always bug us to get one when we go to the grocery store...so we picked one up.

My IP training is still in its infancy...and I hit like a girl...

...but the coconut broke right open, no problems.

So...to conclude: the guys who brag about breaking these things are just big sissies like me!:o

anyway, wtf is with these guys? the doo wai flicks show what appears to be flailing with poor posture, poor balance, no stance, no root and nowhere is there any contact.

lots of costumery though as if that is going to make anything more convincing.

he's been doing this since the seventies on top of it all! does he not realize the internet allows for even more critical reasoning to take place among observers?

Mah Jong

Objective

A player generally tries to collect sets of tiles. The 3 basic sets are as follows:

A Pung - a set of 3 identical tiles e.g. 3 x Red Dragons, 3 x Two circles
A Kong - a set of 4 identical tiles. e.g. 4 x Eight of Bamboos or 4 x North Winds.
A Chow - a run of 3 tiles in the same suit. A Chow does not score and so is only helpful because it can contribute to a hand that allows a player to call Mah Jong.
The primary aim of the game is to collect such tiles that allow a player to call "Mah Jong" and go out. In order to do this, a player must achieve one of the following:

A pair, and 4 Pungs, Kongs or Chows
A special hand
However, the overall aim of the game is to amass a greater score than one's opponents and it should be remembered that it is possible to do this over a series of rounds without ever calling Mah Jong.

Sorry, very oblique... :-)
