I recently moved to Chicago and I miss my sifu and class. I live on the north side (Rogers Park) but work in the Loop. Can anyone recommend a good school(s) in either area?

I'd like to stay with tibetan white crane or one of the other offshoots of Lion's Roar but I'm open to any long fist style that would be complimentary. Otherwise, I'm thinking I might check out some of the taiji classes I've come across.

I go to the Ng Family Chinese Martial Arts Association school in chinatown. It's not far from the loop. I practice choy lay fut and some lama there. The curriculum is mainly choy lay fut with lama sprinkled in here and there. It's a very good school We do pretty much everything forms, weapons, sanshou, lion dancing etc. and my sifu is one of the best people I know. Very down to earth and realistic, friendly and doesn't charge much for training. I've been going to this school for 7yrs. There is also ving tsun(wing chun) and wu (hao) style tai chi if you are interested in that.

Though this doesn't specifically address your interest, I was given a card for a Green Mountain Martial Arts school that teaches Chen family Tai Chi Ch'uan and Chow Gar Southern Praying Mantis in suite 318 over at 845 W Fulton Market in the 60607 zip code. It says the Master instructor is one Brian Snapp. Has anyone heard of the school or the teacher?

Does anyone know of Hung gar training in Chicago. My cousin moved here from Cali where he trained in Hung gar for about 3 years and would like to continue in it. He knows about Andrew Kong in Rockford, but that is kind of far.
