BANGKOK ADRENALINE (2009)

Bangkok, the city may be going up in flames as Thai military clash with anti-government protesters but life goes on for some, including the makers of BANGKOK ADRENALINE who will finally see their film released to theaters next month, assuming those theaters are still standing.

BANGKOK ADRENALINE is an English-language, Thai action-comedy created by and mostly starring Western foreigners, many of them stunt professionals such as screenwriter and co-star Conan Stevens (SOMTUM) who has been blogging about the film at his web site since late 2006 when he announced that he had been recruited by his friend, director Ray Huber to adapt a story about four deadbeat expatriates trying to survive in Bangkok.

The film stars British-born, tricking stunt actor Daniel O'Neill, a Jackie Chan Stunt Team veteran with acting credits that include GEN-Y COPS, THE TWINS EFFECT and Tony Jaa's THE PROTECTOR. He portrays one of four Western backpackers recently arrived in Thailand who find themselves in debt to local gangsters. In a desperate bid to save themselves, they kidnap a beautiful heiress (Priya Suandokmai) and hold her for ransom. Turns out they have inadvertently rescued her from a murderous plot by her own father. He unleashes an army of hitmen and these unlikely heroes fight back.

The film also stars Dom Hetrakul, Lex de Groot and Geoffrey Guiliano.

Action direction is provided by Ron Smoorenburg, the Dutch high kicker famously featured as Jackie Chan's opponent in a climatic rooftop fight sequence in WHO AM I?

BANGKOK ADRENALINE has been dubbed into Thai for its local theatrical run which begins on May 14th.

yeah. After watching the trailer, I'd pick it up, if for nothing else, to watch the stunts. Looks better than that cyborg/android gory samurai flick.
