You don't need any equipment. Try this:

Try standing on one leg with the other leg with the knee as high as it can go. Keep your hands on your hips to start and then later you can hold them in different positions or punching or whatever. Change legs. Then as you progress move to standing on a red brick laying flat, then progress to laying on it's side, then to it standing straight up. Keep good position and relax, breathing all the time. This is a great exercise.

Now for moving. Stand in a horse stance looking forward with hands on the hips. Move your right leg across the left while looking back to the right. Your trying to keep on a straight line. This is called lady horse in Wah Lum. Then unwind so you're in a horse stance with the body facing the opposite direction you started. When you move away look to the right and when you unwind turn your head to look to the left. Pick an object in the distance and keep your eyes on it thoughout the exercise on this side. Now your going to do it all one more time with the right over left and then you'll be back in the same place you started. Do this until you can do 100 on each side (left over right and right over left). If you can do just those two things you will have great balance.

for improving balance we use shaolin stances the work incrediably well and are easy to explian /hard to perform! start with faiyen(flying sparrow) place one foot on the ground and lift one foot in the air behind you pointing your toes and lifting your leg so it is parallel to your shoulder blade, arch your back and extend your arms backward while pointing your fingers, lock the knee of your supporting leg. start with a minute on both legs then work your way up! good luck and PRACTICE
