kung fu flicks/movies are always looking for new moves.

most used styles would be wing chun

and then tiger crane double forms.

oops I meant Kung Fu flicks from Hong Kong or shaw's brothers.

Glorified Kickboxers, all!!!

What could any of these guys possibly know about "real" kung-fu?

so as all open hand combat system has some weapon system, too.

always like to know the weapon system for the ground game combat system?

such as long weapon, short weapon--

oooooh, they do not have any weapon system.

because you use both of your hands grabbing on the the opponent. and you also use your legs to grab on to the opponent.

there are no weapon holding hands.

 :D

mind that we fight with weapon/tool since stone age

we used the sharp-edge stone/rock and tied to a stick.

Now you're channeling him. Maybe he's using his real kung fu to astrally project himself into your typing fingers. Scary.

Collin Chou should've broke Donnie's ankle at the end of the fight. If he would've practiced real groundfighting- he would've known how to do that. ;)

I love that movie and that is one of the best fight scenes I've seen in a while. Better ground game than what was used in SPL.

His flying arm bar at the beginning of the movie looked realistic. During the commentaries of either this one or SPL, him and Bey Logan were chatting and he said that he was a bit too old to train in MMA hardcore. I think he is a quick learner.

real kung fu is on the horse back, using weapon, one against many.

oh, lol ya. one of the things i like about donnie is that he grew up scrapping on the streets. plus his family lineage as far as martial arts goes is pretty tight.

Someone else mentioned that he was using a lot of "Kung-fudo" so I thought that was awesome. But- like I said before, I wished that the choreographer would've picked up on the fact that he was crossing his ankles while he was doing a rear mount.

The old-school war scenes from the other movies were awesome. Probably my favorite Donnie Yen scene is the dual that he had with Jet in Hero. Everything about that scene rocked.

:)

the clip depicted a battle between the kingdom of zhao and the kingdom of yan.

for the most part, it is accurate, the tactics and strategy of using horse driven chariot to charge in the front. they are to overwhelm the infantry formation.

so yan used long distance arrows first --

the mixture of cavalry and infantry with long spear etc etc

--

however, the technology is not accurate

at the time, they may only make bronze sword?

the armor deflects the sword??

--

some saind Qin had the strickest law and that made them strong and conquer the rest of China.

actually, it was technology. Qin made the arrows the biggest and going the most distance, Qin made better armor and swords, too.
