I was wondering...since he's nephew to Lam Sai Wing...

was he around when Wong Fei Hong was around?

A Hong Kong TV station interviewed Lam Jo a few years back and he mentioned in the interview he met Wong Fei Hung.

He noted Wong Fei Hung was tall & slim.

Others things he noted caused alot of Hung Ga people to be upset.

But what can you say, he is the only one alive that last saw Wong Fei Hung.

Following DJ's advice, Lam Jo was born in 1910. He was adopted by Lam Sai Wing as a young child. Wong Fei Hung died in 1924. So yes.

What could he have said that would upset people?

Like who was a student of whom kind of deal?

Couldn't he have varified that picture of Wong Fei Hung ?

I mentioned once that WFH was a great herbalist and known for his Mo Duk / Wu De but wasn't really known to be a "fighter" and the whole forum went up in flames for like a month.....

(did I just do that?)

(yeah, I did) :D

this just confirms what I have been told too....

as for the picture,I dont think lam Jo need to say anything as it is simple logic..there are plenty of group pictures where you can see an elderly Mok Gwei Lan and the person from the pic (whos the son of WFH) if its really WFH how comes he looks younger than Mok Gwei Lan..WFH married her in high age when she was like 16...

Grandmaster Lam Jou, my sigung, was born in 1910; he was adopted by Lam Saiwing in 1916 and was 14 years old when Wong Feihung has passed away (1924).

my sigung has always regarded Lam Saiwing to be THE Hung Kyun master and fighter; anyway, if Wong Feihung jou si was not good enough, Lam Saiwing would not spent with him 20 years.

anyway, history. i would be more concerned about Hung Ga Kyun today, not 100 years ago.

no offense, but your math isn't exactly adding up

Heh, heh, I was thinking the same thing. Lam Jo was born 1910. Wong Feihung died in 1924. 24 minus 10 does not equal 8....

Thanks for trying to answer my question.

But people of Hung Ga Kyun today are talking about the history of 100 years ago... what are you going to do?

Also perhaps Lam Jo has shared stories of Wong Fei Hong that's less theatrical and more down to earth?

Not to offend anyone but my guess and theory is that LSW wanted something WFH had. Namely the knowledge of the TSK set.

I'm not sure but did WFH learn the TSK directly from Lam Fook Sing. Or did he learn from his Father Wong Kei Ying?

i would not say it was just tsk. LSW has learned tsk after 16 years with WFH, and stayed with him 4 years longer. WFH definitely had gungfu.

WFH has learned tsk from Lam Fuksing, not his father.

It was the infinite loyalty of Lam Sai Wing to Wong Fei Hung that kept them together.

It was LSW moving to Hong Kong that caused the teacher/student to part.

Wong Fei Hung visiting in Hong Kong is one of the times Lam Jo saw Wong Fei Hung in person.

Yeah your probably right Pavel. It makes sense. There definitely had to have been a relationship formed over time and mutual respect.

Thanks for the TSK info. Wasn't sure about that one.

Lam Jo is now 97 years old. So he was about 12 when WFH died ~1924. My guess is that the two has probably met. If so, Lam Jo should probably still have memory of WFH though not much.

WFH has learned tsk from Lam Fuksing, not his father. by PM.

This info is correct as it has been well documentated.
