1. Whatever I did, it was justified. After all, the duck started it.

2. The most recent photos in those pictures are the "Puppy Bong" and the "Carpe Canard" photo. By the time those were taken the infamous "cincherone de muerte" was already retired, and has become a paperweight.

3. What, you thought I got to where I am on just my stunning good looks? You gotta "go along" to get allong.

Iron Fist just got his knife and it cost me a total of like $2 to get it to him. I'll get you your books, but since it's going to cost me at least $50 to get them to you, I'll wait until next month when I'll have a little more stuff ammassed. Even then, it's will take up to 20 days to get to you.

Budokan, I'm not done yet.

Here is me after the 1998 International Karate Championships. The guy on the far right is my instructor.

<a href="http://www.photoloft.com/view/Image.asp?s=jasc&u=1635532&a=1170088&i=8317549"><img src=http://www.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=jasc&i=8317549&w=256&h=168></a>

Here's me with Chuck Norris circa 1997. Possibly the worst picture of me ever. But Mr. Norris is a really nice guy. I've had the good forture to meet with him on several occasions and he's always a class act.

<a href="http://www.photoloft.com/view/Image.asp?s=jasc&u=1635532&a=1170088&i=8318443"><img src=http://www.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=jasc&i=8318443&w=512&h=335></a>

Part 2 of my Jihad on Redfish. Note the "white man's overbite" usually reserved for intense dancing.

<a href="http://www.photoloft.com/view/Image.asp?s=jasc&u=1635532&a=1170088&i=8318464"><img src=http://www.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=jasc&i=8318464&w=512&h=344></a>

And the fruits of my labor. The reason I put up all of these fishing photos is that during that one trip each of us, (me and members of my family) hit our limit in Red Drum within 45 minutes. It was an incredible trip.

I think I've got some climbing photos and some photos of my project cars around here somewhere. If I find them I'll post them.

My first real project car, a 1968 Camaro. 11.41 in the quarter and it was my daily driver for 9 years.

<a href="http://www.photoloft.com/view/Image.asp?s=jasc&u=1635532&a=1170088&i=8323186"><img src=http://www.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=jasc&i=8323186&w=506&h=512></a>

My first lead climb of a 5.11. I know it doesn't mean allot to some of you b@st@rds, but it was pretty hard, and like my 4th climb ever.

<a href="http://www.photoloft.com/view/Image.asp?s=jasc&u=1635532&a=1170088&i=8323180"><img src=http://www.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=jasc&i=8323180&w=512&h=337></a>

Yeah, and remember, it was my daily driver. That 11.41 was on street tires. And I drove it every day. That meant that at any time I could put on the gas and smoke just about everyone. Unfortunately, 8mph gets a little old.

I know I've got pictures of my 64 Chevelle around somewhere. The first engine I put in it was a 502cid project big block from an old Cadillac. Many, many modifications made it a 10 second demon. But not a really reliable vehicle. I have no idea what the real horsepower was, but 502cid at 12.5:1 compression (YESSSS) bored .30 over, ported, polished, and had a 300hp nitrous boost probabbly put it well over 1.5kbhp. But parts were expensive (I went through 2 sets of trick heads/connecting rods and more push rods than I can count) and I eventually pulled the tourque pig out and put in an almost stock 454 (changed the cam, intake, puts some headers on, left the mallory, gave it a Edelbrok 750cfm), swapped the rear end(back down to 373:1), flattened the mini tubs, pulled the 4 link, (left the TCI TH 400 tranny) and gave it to one of my sisters for her 16th.

She seemed pretty pleased. I wonder how long that car will last? I give it 1 year.

im gonna be dreaming 2night about muscle cars, in 1 year i should finish tuning my ricer up, and then i'm gonna start a real project on that real american muscle, boy i cant wait, im dreaming about it now.

Your 64 chevelle with the 502 how heavy was it ? what was the top end on it and what top speed did you hit on the 1/4 mile ? what ratio was it running ? was it the automatic tranny that you had specially set up that shaved 1 sec of your quater ?

Martial Joe, they are Koma Inu, Japanese Lion Dogs. There are always paired, one male, one female. The female has her mouth open (go figure) saying the syllable "a" and the male has his mouth in a growls saying "nn". That is like a and z in the Japanese alphabet. Alpha and Omega. Together, they represent order and are said to bring order to what they rest on. Not peace, but order. I've wanted them on me my whole life, as long as I can remember. So one day, I went to an exhibit that had a wood block print of Koma Inu on display. I took a wax sheet and made a pressing of them, and then cover the sheets in char coal. I pressed them onto my shoulder blades and then had Randy Adams, a tatoo artist I met in the Virgin Islands, ink them in.

Ok, the Chevelle was around 3800 lbs. I have no idea what my top speed was. And no, the tranny that was really nice, (actually featured in Hot Rod Magazine once) was in the aforementioned Camaro.

I play with gears allot, a whole lot. Swap from something like a stock 323 to a 411 and you will think you addedd 300hp. I used a 411, a 455 and even a 470something in the Chevelle. Obviously, the lower (higher numerically) gears gave me the best neck snap. I use an automatic on all of my drag cars, but standards are more fun. Have someone else do your tranny work, unless you've got a great teacher, allot of tools, allot of time and allot of money. On the Camaro, I used 411s most of the time, but later, when I had to do allot of driving, I went back down to 373. All in all, I still think 373 is the best gear ratio for a street sleeper. Much more than that and you start having trouble cruising without it being too loud and costing you an arm and a leg in gas. (BTW, spend as much time and money on your rear end as neccessary. The stock Chevy rear end IS NOT ADEQUATE FOR DRAG RACING. Not the 12 bolt, hell, not even the 14. There are several cheap fixes for what I consider a real design flaw. The axle is only held in by a small clip. Under loads tipical of drag racing, that clip can break. When it happened to me, and eventually it will happen to you, my right axle spun out (with the wheel still attached) and shot right out of the side of the fender well. Quite a bit of damage. Of course, you can always just go with the Ford 9", which I always said I would and never did. Oh, and of course, chant the mantra "limmited slip differential" 10 times each night before you go to bed.

One bit of advice, the thing you can do right now is start planning. Take a notebook and define your goals, and then start parting out and pricing out what it will cost you to meet those goals. Get estimates for work that you think you can do anyway. That will show you what you might want to consider spending your time on, and what you can afford to have someone else do. Include what it will costs you for tools. Include a mig welder in you "tool box". The plan is everything. Define your goals, define your resources, define your options.

And remember, anyone can restore a car, it takes a real man to cut one up.

Oh, and don't let rear ends intimidate you. I was afraid to do mine for a long time, and then I finally went all the way and put in mini tubs, a 4 link, and a rear end all by myself. Just me and a floor jack. It was so much easier than I ever thought. Lots of steps, but easy.

That's cool about the dogs. I wonder if the stories differ between the Okinawan shi shi dog and the ones from mainland, in your tattoo.

The Okinawan dog's supposed to be a giant dog that comes to life whenever the island's threatened. They got a 30 foot, stone dog statue by this beach called Zampa. It's supposed to be the representation of it. They actually portrayed the dog in one of the Godzilla movies.

Could just be that the poor sugar cane farmers down south got the story horribly, horribly wrong. hehe

phew thanks for all that info and advice, i thought it would be easier than this but tuning american cars is a different world from jap cars, in the jap cars for example , its always turbo , you tweak the boost up lower the compression bore the throttle body, and i know that this much boost needs this much more fuel , injectors go by size , additional injectors can be added and tuned by computer.Pistons conrods all forged, titanium valve springs cams intercooler to cool cfm that matches with the turbo output etc etc.

Now im looking at things on the net and its like what is that . 4 brl carbs , 3x2 barrel manifolds or something like that , dual tunnel rams. no ecu , its like wow what am i doing here. I dont even know where to start , what gear ratios, theres so many to chose from !!! automatics , man i never looked twice at automatics. its enough to drive me.

Well, don't forget the stuff you've picked up on fuel injection. Still, the best way to get allot of horsepower reliably and still keep your gas prices from getting too high is with a good tuned port injection system. Don't let people convince you that you need 1500cfm of carboration to get your fuel moving. The VAST majority of cars out there are actually getting too much gas for what they can burn. Remember, gas is a catalyst (oxygen is your fuel), a coolant, and a lubricant inside of your engine. Kinda weird, but true. So the "more is better" idea is not always the case.

If you want to huff, you'll probably want to go with a supercharger and not a turbocharger. Lots of reasons for this and there are no good reasons against it when it comes to a drag car. Now, an every day car might be a different story, as a supercharger is ALWAYS on. Nitrous is good, but make d@mn sure you have the peripherals to support it.

There is no human on earth that can shift as well as a properly built TH400 automatic transmission. However, you really loose some fun and some control, imho. But if your only concern is that majic number 10 happening every single time you step on the peddle, you can't beat an automatic.

And yes, gears can be mind numbing. Add tire hight to the equation and now you're really aiming for a headache. By the time you get to your goal of consistent 10s (that is if you're trying to get consistent 10s streetable) you'll have gone through a dozen different rear ends and tire ratios. Have fun.

But then, you'd only be as fast as them. And where's the fun in that?

hey jwt , i know what you mean about copying ppl the whole bloody fun of tuning is to be original and do what represents you in a car,

anyhow thanks for the info , still quite mind boggled about various stuff , about tuning the car i definately dont want to turbo it and i am thinking about a supercharger but i really want a n/a speed demon, i want that torque and hp with no lag. The other thing is making the car lighter most cars ive seen tuned from jap are under 3000 pounds , and it still handles power over 700 rwbhp without a prob. So thats one thing i definately want to do. About the fuel mixture and stuff , i know what you mean , its the common misconception that most guys say ""my car flows THIIIIIS much fuel"" where as you get most power running stoich - a tiny bit lean. I run it a bit rich on my mixture incase of overboost i dotn want to be looking for new pistons.
On my car i have a piggy back ecu that lets you regulate air fuel mixture, but i mean if i had a carb in front of me i would be like , ok what do i do with that.
anyhow , i checked out that th400 tranny and boy
i have a lot of learning ahead of me , nothing like how we run our cars , 5 gears 6 gears.

Btw i almost forgot , most of the tuned jap cars run on 17 inch rims , with a low profile of 35-40, width of 245 at the most, what did m0ost of yours run on ? ive seen some crazy 13 inch rims for drag racing, for american cars.

Those little rims are just for the front. The rear wheels are often 17" and 19". But the cool thing is 17" high and 18" wide.

When you talk about these cars haveing 700 rear wheel horse power, how much tourque do they have and at what RPM?

Oh, and it's EASY to get a car around 3,000 pounds. That's what my 68' Camaro was and it still had all of the interior.

usually because they are turbo cars they peak torque between 4500 and 5500 rpms never lower than that , and bearing in mind that these engines are never bigger than 3.0 litre usually they are 2.6 litre. and around 800 lbs / foot of torque.

VW's latest toy also used in the Audi A8

The engine is a 5.6 litre “W12” with four valves per cylinder and four overhead camshafts: Maximum power is 310kW at 5800 r/min while a torque peak of 530Nm is achieved at 3000 r/min.

The W12 amounts to two of VW's narrow-angle 2.8 litre ‘VR6’ V6 engines joined together at an angle of 72 degrees. The narrow angle in the V6 makes for a compact and light engine which carries over, doubly, to the W12. The camshafts are chain driven and have hydraulically controlled variable valve timing, operating four valves per cylinder. The engine is 510mm long, 700mm wide and the unit is mounted north-south. There are seven main bearings.

... That is exactly twice the displacement of mine :)

I am thinking, a couple of S4 twin-turbo chargers for each set of the V6 and maybe if need be, a daf of Nitrous Oxide for breathing. Care to try ? I wonder if it is possible to hit 800kW...
