this has been in all the english news papers today. it says that two drunken students started verbally abusing and threatening two cage fighters who were on there way to their mates stag do dressed as women.

the two students got 4 months community service and a 7pm-7am curfew.

i think there is a lesson here. dont judge a book by its cover :D

people actually call them "cage fighters"?

that's funny.

I thought only Kip Dynamite was the potential cage fighter and that the term was mere hyperbole.

But then, it is England. lol :p

do they still say "can i cadge a *** mate" too?

"cage fighter" is superlative hyperbole. How is "cage fighter" superlative hyperbole. Aren't most MMA event held in some kind of caged enclosure? The term "cage fighter" is simple to understand and is evocative of the whole MMA scene.

when reported in the press, many do not understand the acronym MMA.

that is why cage fighter is the accepted term.

It's like that movie Beautiful Boxer. Obviously trannies have issues. I wouldn't mess with one. What could you possibly gain? Win and its a hate crime. Lose and its the ultimate humiliation. That drunk kid got exactly what he deserved.

Actually there are plenty of mma organizations which use ring instead of cage ....... for example Fedor never fought in cage ......... in Dream/Pride they used ring and same goes for afflication .........

Actually there are plenty of mma organizations which use ring instead of cage ....... for example Fedor never fought in cage ......... in Dream/Pride they used ring and same goes for afflication .........Pure genius. So you're suggesting the British media should use the expression 'ring fighters' or 'ring or cage fighters' so people understand what they're talking about over the not-widely-known acronym MMA?

Or are you just nitpicking?!

:p
