there are many variations of tan tui practice.

I like this set.

b/c there are many good techniques including pi gua in them and not just kicks alone.

just curious, do you have any idea of where the tan tui in the Han ching tan lineage came from, or even if its muslim or the shaolin set or wherever?

way to wushuified. too much drama.

the set is simple straight forward attacks and defenses.

that youtube video makes it look like some weird dance routine.

do not like. :)

You can use Tan Tui opening (block, block, punch), link to Judo "hip throw" (do it left and right), and then link to Tan Tui ending (block, block, punch). If you make 10 roads like this to cover 10 different Judo throws (hip throw, leg wheel, shoulder drop, ...), Judo guys will have their Tan Tui. But I strongle doubt Judo guys will call it Tan Tui though.

You may say, "I like this set b/c there are many good Judo techniques in it".

Tan Tui is not the only "drill" form ever been created on earth. Pi Gua guys don't need to give long fist guys all the credit for their effort. If you created a sword form, you don't have to call it Taiji sowrd.

I Thought I was hallucinating!
I started to think the Tan Tui I learned was simplified.

agreed what JW said.

I think that tan tui are incorporated in this set of practice.

and yes, they are mostly pi gua signature moves.

The Tan Tui in GM Han's lineage came from Nan Jin Guan Shu Guan (Institute). It was arranged by the teachers in the Inititute as a prototype version.
