Ok, I haven't seen New Moon, but I'm now officially very amused by Lautner. Did you see his opening monologue on SNL (http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/clips/taylor-lautner-monologue/1184683/)? A glitter bo (http://www.martialartsmart.com/27-k.html)! Right on, man. Inspire all those teenybopper fan girls to get into martial arts..

We've been talking about him on our celeb thread (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41233&page=5).

I'm hoping Taylor inspires this generation of teenyboppers to get into martial arts.

I've changed the thread heading appropriately.

Summit picks up action spec by Champnella, Thompson

Summit is staying in the Taylor Lautner game.

As the days tick down to the town closing for the holidays, the company has picked up "Cancun," an action spec by Eric Champnella and Grant Thompson.

The project is acting as starring vehicle for Lautner and is the first project from the newly established production shingle he shares with his dad, Dan Lautner.

Dan Lautner is in discussion to produce the movie with Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, who forged a relationship with the actor whom they worked on Summit's "Twilight Sage: New Moon."

The story follows an out-of-place college kid who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break. While there, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel and he is forced to save them. The story is designed to take advantage of Lautner's martial arts skills, which he showed off when he hosted "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend.

Summit's president of production Erik Feig and director of development Gillian Bohrer will oversee the project for the studio.

Champnella, repped by ICM, Mosaic and attorney Dave Feldman, co-wrote Disney's "Mr. 3000" and worked on Warners' DC Comics project "Metal Men." Thompson, also repped by ICM, is an actor-turned-writer; this is his first sale.

Lautner is repped by WME and Management 360.

think you should try and get this kid for an article in the magazine...i know usually old bearded men sell copies...but this kid might give a nice little bump...usually we all would ***** about that, but hey in these times where print is dying left and right we will all forgive and forget.

It seems that not a lot of of people were aware of his martial arts abilities before the Twilight phenomenon. His accomplishments when he was younger are very admirable.

Did you catch Taylor's Rolling Stone cover interview? He did it from his martial arts school. Check out Behind the Cover Shoot: Taylor Lautner (http://www.rollingstone.com/videos/video/31054008/behind_the_cover_shoot_taylor_lautner).

Twilight’s Taylor Lautner To Show Martial Arts Skills In New ‘Cancun’ Movie (http://ontheflix.com/2009/12/27/twilights-taylor-lautner-to-show-martial-arts-skills-in-new-cancun-movie/)

Twilight’s Taylor Lautner to show Martial Arts skills in new ‘Cancun’ movie. According to Clevver TV and a couple of other news sources, the Twilight,New Moon, and Eclipse movie star, Taylor Lautner is going to be showing off his Martial Arts skills in a new movie called, “Cancun.” It will be released by Summit Entertainment, which is the same studio that released the “Twilight Saga” movies.

Cancun will revolve around an out-of-place college kid (Taylor Lautner) who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break. Once they arrive, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel, and Taylor’s character will be forced to save them.

The movie will also be produced under Taylor’s new company named, “Taylormade Entertainment.” It’s supposed to start filming in June of 2010. I like the sound of this movie. It sounds like it’ll be pretty exciting to watch. It may make Taylor a new action film star, who knows? I do know that he is a badass Martial Arts specialist, and I look forward to seeing more of that from him.

You can also see Taylor Lautner in “Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which is in theaters now, and “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” when it hits theaters on June 30,2010.

Do we still have badass Martial Arts Specialists or did they fade out back in the seventies?

I'm still wrapping my head around the fact that the giant dog from New Moon is going to be a Martial Arts hero in his next film.
