Roy Nelson claims a Shaolin Kung Fu background. The dept and breath of that, I've not heard. How much he feel's that has influenced his fighting, well you'll have to take that up with him. Are you saying kung fu people aren't allowed to cross train? :p

early days in shaolin kung fu is like saying early days in karate, we all went there as kids doesn't mean we represent those styles now.

I am not saying kung fu guys can't cross train, hell i do it. I would think to represent kung fu in the ring you would have to still be training in it as you faught in the cage/ring, by this token guys like jason delucia fit the bill nicely

somewhat recently i saw a vid of a huge black dude using wing chun in what i believe was mma rule fight. his opponenet didnt look up to his level in fitness, but i cant remember who or what it was.

im not sure, ill have to search youtube later. im thinking the vid i saw had better recording and the guy looked more ripped. he was def a heavy weight but i dont remember seeing any excess body fat. ill have to search around. could be just a different time on recordings though.
