"The long-shot bid by Republicans to retake control of the Senate is suddenly in play, as the prospect of high-profile Republican candidates entering the fray has pushed the GOP even or ahead in polling for 10 races.

The potential candidacies of former Republican Govs. George E. Pataki in New York and Tommy G. Thompson in Wisconsin are improving the polling fortunes of the party as it pursues seats long in the hands of Democrats, while the anti-government "tea party" movement has provided momentum to Republican challengers in states such as Florida, Arkansas and Pennsylvania.

"If the election were held today, the Republicans could come close to winning back the Senate, if not actually win it," said pollster John Zogby.

Republicans are solidly ahead to take at least five seats now held by Democrats - in North Dakota, Delaware, Nevada, Arkansas and Pennsylvania. Five more are now considered winnable - Colorado, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and even liberal New York. Two other races, in California and Washington, are tightening daily.

In Wisconsin, three-term Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold suddenly faces a real contest from Mr. Thompson - who has not even decided whether to enter the race. The most recent poll from Rasmussen Reports found Mr. Thompson leading Mr. Feingold by a 47 percent to 43 percent margin. Independent voters favored Mr. Thompson 53 percent to 36 percent, the survey found."

LMAO at Feingold being behind in a race where he doesn't even have an opponent!

I told you liberals November was gonna be a bloodbath. What if the Republicans win control of the House and the Senate? :D

I am just praying that Pelosi do not get re-elected. I would be willing to trade a years salary for that to happen. I also wish Hitlery be marooned on an island somewhere with Feinstein.

Hey! I bet all those GOP candidates at least have the guts to give a yes or no answer on a moral question.

Here's to hoping...but I doubt GOP will gain significant control of anything considering their miserable failures over the last decade under the last president who basically divided his own party and fragmented it to the point where it is now a question fo what does it mean to be a republican?

Does it mean you are conservative? Neo-conservative? Reformist? Miilitant? What is it?

Sadly, she will likely be re-elected. She is from an ultra-liberal district. But Barney Frank's liberal district voted for Brown in the Mass Senate race, so it is possible. Even if she wins re-election, if the Democrats lose control of the House, she will not be Speaker any longer.

As bad as Bush was to the Republican Party his last two years, Obama is worse for his Party after just one year. Ted Kennedy's seat was lost on his watch, and this after he campaigned for the Democrat running for it. The Democrats also lost 2 Governorships in states Obama carried easily.

Obama is imo forcing Democrats to go along with his socialist agenda or be left out of the Democrat Party. Come November, they are gonna pay big time.
