By this do you mean students of Kao Tao Sheng? Or is there another Longfist mantis system?

Yes, Tonglong1 - I mean, students from the Wang Song Ting / Kao Tao Sheng Tang Lang Quan lineage.

Where did long fist mantis come from? Is it out of 7 Star or Plum Flower?

'Changquan Tanglang Men' (Longfist Mantis Boxing Association) is based in Taipei, Taiwan and is headed by Kao Tao Sheng. There is a also a branch of the Changquan Tanglang Association in Japan.

'Changquan Tanglang Men' was the name used earlier to register with the R.O.C. Kuoshu Association. There were already several associations using the name 'Tanglang Men' (Mantis Association) that had previously registered with the R.O.C. Kuoshu Association; therefore, the only option for Kao Tao Sheng was to register his school using the name 'Changquan Tanglang Men.'

'Changquan Tanglangquan' is actually a form of 'Meihua Tanglangquan' (Plum Flower Mantis Boxing), although they do practice other Changquan related routines, namely, 'Xiao Hu Yan,' 'Zhong Hu Yan,' 'Da Hu Yan,' and 'Si Lu Ben Da.' The other routines they practice are of 'Meihua Tanglangquan' origin; e.g., 'Lan Jie,' 'Meihua Lu,' 'Ba Zhou,' 'Zhai Kui,' 'Zhai Yao,' etc.
