These are only amateur fights but if you're in or near the NYC area you are welcome to test you skills in an upcoming event in August. Hey, you have to start somewhere. There will be some WC fighters there from different lineages.

what are the rules, required equipment, etc?

The last fights were basically similar to the WKA kickboxing rules. You have 10 seconds to do something if you go to the ground or the ref has you stand up. Gear is mouthpiece, and cup. Shin pads were optional. I'll have to check to see if the rules have changed or if I forgot something.
