Here we go again. Did anyone have anything interesting to eat today?

I had meatloaf and mash potatoes. Delicious.

Are any of the warriors on this board vegetarians? Personally Im against a vegetarian diet but I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there who feels they are benefitting from not eating meat while doing martial arts.

Two, that's 2 whole chicken leg quarters, roasted, with a small serving of spinach for fiber. I also had a large tomato sliced. Everything spritzed with a good Italian vinegrette.
You can survive indefinately on meat proteins, but not on carbs, so in order to get by on a veggie diet you have to eat veggies with lots of protein. Even then I doubt you could stay healthy. People do it though.

Ultimatewingchun,

I finally tried that Italian dish you posted last time. Cooked tuna with tomato sauce on bread. That stuff was delicious. I'm converted.

Let's see, do I feel like Italian or English?

There's this fresh Fish and Chips place by my clinic, and they make the freshest fish fillet- you choose the filet then they batter it and fry it.

Then there's the deli where this old Sicilian signore makes the best panini this side of Italy.

I eat fast food, today I ate at Captain D's. Bite sized shrimp and roasted red potatoes with an extra piece of fish.

However, I did recently purchase a treadmill and I have started walking on it so maybe there is hope for me yet. :p

The fast food industry is like a disease which kills its host. And all the exercise you can do will not protect you.

Here's a newsflash for you. You're going to die anyway so if you have the choice between the fried dumplings or the boiled ones pick the fried ones. Fast food, once a week, isn't going to hurt you that much. The benefits(you being happy) outweigh the bad effects. The people who avoid fast food are the first ones to complain about stomach pain after stopping at the Burger King truck stop on an overnight trip to the casino. Or they say stuff like, "I don't eat that. Is there anything else.". Then I say, "We're in the middle of a highway at a truck stop. Take your head out of your a$$."

LOL!

Benny, not quite! Its more like this:

VP: At the first one In February, you asked William Cheung to take a bite outta his panini - and immediately attempted to try and take the whole sandwich! (I was there, remember?)...he shuts you down REALLY fast and hard...and you then proceed to do the slowest nibble I have ever seen in my life - for fear that he might continue to blast you and throw you all around...

RC: Your mind is slipping Victor. Phil Redmond was so kind to send me that DVD of that first seminar we all attended. You have been spouting BS all these years about me and you were wrong - what could you do to make up for this? Master Cheung shut down Richmond Koo, who tried to rev up and take his panini. I was there, I saw it. Phil Redmond was there, he saw it. We both knew Richmond Koo from Henry Leung's school. Afterwards, I even told Richmond it wasn't cool he tried that. Maybe we Chinamen look all the same to you? Richmond is 5'6", I'm 6'1". You are wrong. And you have spread this BS story for years - how does it feel to know you're wrong? I'm here to tell you in front of everyone, you have done me wrong all these years, and your pride can't handle it. Look at that DVD again. I have it. With me, Master Cheung was showing me his cappicola, provolone, and roast beef combo which is different than most Yip Man WCK paninis and I was trying it out by taking a bite. I wasn't there to take William Cheung's panini - I wanted to learn what ingredients it had. I was a college student who saved his money and came with Phil Redmond's invitation to lunch. William was my boyhood idol. Your memory is skewed.

Yes, we are all going to die anyway.

BUT!
Before you die, most of us start to slow down, get diseases and then we die.

If you are healthy, take care of yourself and eat reasonably well without any of this processed shyte, then you will have a fine set of autumn years barring genetic deficiency.

If you go about it all as if no one of it matters then your golden years will be 10 years of aggravation, upset bowels, diseased organs, depleted joy of living in general.

It really is much better for you to eat less, exercise more, and avoid this crap as if it was the plague.

You know that when you get a good scar when you're 20 and a year later you hardly feel it. well when you hit 60, that thing starts to bug you again and towards your end days, all the damage you have inflicted on yourself over the years starts to compile and cause you a lot of problems.

So if you're ok with all that, then go ahead enjoy that bic mac heart attack. lol :)

Pizza for lunch - first time in 2 months! All you can eat at Pizza Hut too! If you're going to do it 'wrong', pizza by the plate full is the best way to go!
Had a side salad and water, so I guess it was only half-bad :p

Gigi and I had lunch with Dominique Saatenang (Yanmai), Bai Wenxiang and Qian Yuanze. Gigi treated everyone to lunch at the World Gourmet (http://www.goworldgourmet.com/), which is this all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet right next door. I think I ate too much and hurt myself. I'm a sucker for all-you-can-eat salmon, plus the make this sinfully tasty casino-style mussels. I hope I don't regret stuffing my face so much at Shaolin practice tonight.

For more on Master Qian, see The Tradition of Modern Wushu: Pioneering Grandmaster Qian Yuanze (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=749) in our 2008 March/April issue (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=744).

Still in the wake of USAWKF Nationals (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37829). This is somewhat the same cast as the previous post, adding Malee Khow of USAWKF. This time, Coach Li Xue of USA O-Mei Kung Fu (http://www.usaomei.com/) treated everyone to dim sum. It was very pleasant.

It's a little embarrasing to admit this but I had to do a google search to find out what "nachos" are. There is a fascinating history of this dish going all the way back to the 1940s, it seems.

Just got my family back after nearly a year of being separated by 1500 miles of real estate while my daughter was being treated at a Seattle hospital. So my wife and I are a little shy around each other and she suggested a date when I get off work next week. She mentioned a Mexican restaurant and a movie. The first thing I thought of was Gene's postings about nachos. I'm not a foodie, so I don't know what to expect but I'm gonna try it. This is about as adventurous as I get these days.

Bon apetit.

I just had chicken tikka masala botky and holy crap was that good.
Basically it's curry wrapped in a potato pancake.

oddest part was having it in an Irish pub.

go figure.

I also had iit with a french beer, kronenbourg.

light salad on the side,

quite refreshing.
