My Sigung, Karl Godwin, displaying and explaining his reverse wooden dummy form. Our dummy form is the Leung Sheung version. Here he practices it in reverse to the beat of a metronome for reasons that he explains in the video.

don't like the timing thing. But I do the form back to front to practice the newest thing the most. Ive read his book on the dummy. Some really good ideas. The bio chemical stuff was a bit much

His practice and his "reasons" for doing it are complete and utter nonsense.

it would teach rythm. Something you that exploit on other people but don't want it for yourself. It can be predicted and get you into lots of trouble. Some movements take a millisecond some (normally the step) take slightly longer. The tempo isn't important it is doing each seperate technique correct. As the moves aren't done togeather a tempo isn't something you want to develop. Its pretty hard to learn timing from an object that doesn't move. Timing is learnt with people while THEY are moving not just you stepping around a big bit of wood.
