As if there weren't already enough things to freak out about when it comes to your computer (such as viruses, trojans, password stealing programs, etc.) apparently there are keyloggers that don't even need to connect to your computer; they can just "hear" your keystrokes :eek:

This is done by applying a frequency algorithm to the recorded sounds. Because some letters will be used much more than others, the acoustic keylogger can use statistical data to determine which sound corresponds to which key based on the frequency with which each key is used.
That's some tinfoil hat type stuff. And no antivirus program is going to detect a microphone hidden in your room!
Maybe I should wrap my keyboard in tinfoil to muffle the sound...
