insecure in your practice much?

With the advent of all these "he is/he is not" threads being provided by individuals who seem to be vested in a couple of particular organizations I am wondering how some people other than politically deal with non-confidence in what they are doing?

Do you feel the need to stand up and defend/attack someone in an anonymous internet forum for the smallest of perceived slights?

Or do you realize more social profit from merely explaining what is done, why and what the results are?

I don't understand the whole layer that I'm seeing there.

For me personally, I train for the sake of it. It's part of what I decided would be some purpose in my life and I enjoy my practice and respect where it came from.

I've won some, lost some and spent more time training than fighting in my life. I think that's a good thing really, but in general my hands speak for themsleves win or lose and it's a result of what I train should physical conflict unfortunately arise on me.

But crikey! Moaning and whinging about other peoples stuff? COME ON SHELLY!!!

insecurity is in all of people that did not know things well

lost of self confidence--

I was practicing 8th brocade qi gong in the park. so some bystanders started to mimick my moves.

one day I varied the moves. I incorporated some ba gua and tong bei moves--

they were shocked and ridiculed me that I was not doing things right.

one day my brother was much annoyed and explained to them. ba gua and tong bei also have qi gong practices. I was incorporated them into 8 postures of ba duan jin.

mind that the bystanders in the park had no idea what is ba gua and what is tong bei. they only knew and had vcd of ba duan jin.

I was called a shame and outright fraud by them. just b/c I did not do the ba dua jin exactly the way they knew.

i am vry insecure about my abilities. i dont think i will ever get to the point where i am completely secure. ihope this pushes me to strive to be better. i want to break more,bigger stacks,easier. i want to jump higher,i want more speed and power i want my techniques to be flawless,is this all possible, not sure,i will keep training and hope to find out. nbut again I AM insecure in my abilities,as there is always,always someone out there,bigger,stronger,faster than you.

But Bawang can read Chinese and probably amuses himself with chinese history vs white america's version of chinese history and how it's infected the martial arts practice of thousands. :D

I mean there are some really really messed up ideas about martial arts thanks to greedy chinese folks and dumb ass american ones. That's why we have the mess we have now. It's not about a classical mess, it's about a communications mess and a whole pile of turds around face saving that has turned a lot of martial arts practice into about as much value as a pile of dung.
