One thing that few mention was truly how much gloves changes the sport and not just because they could punch more but they could punch so much HARDER too.
Without gloves they tended to hold back and hit in less per round then with gloves.
But gloves made the boxers have to change their style of hitting, they could rely on the "hardness" of the knuckles to do damage so they changed from more "short and snappy" strikes (typically) to more full force, full extension strieks that transfered more impact energy to the target.

the thing that interested me the most was the fact they could throw kicks and throw. interest.
