The real solution is to get the people there to understand that drinking from the river is not a good thing to do and to use the water purifiers that are there.

The cholera outbreak is more from Haitians doing unrecommended things such as drinking from the river.

It's an education issue.

I'm flabbergasted with all the people who have their hand out but no hammer in it.
That's what ticks me off about the Haitian situation.

Even if the whole country was rebuilt to what it was before the earthquake, the conditions would not be very different, just a few old buildings would be put up.

the poverty and lack of education in Haiti is the problem.
It's not the relief effort people, or the French or anything else, it is the Haitian people and their apparent lack of will to make their country work and to hold their politicians accountable and to conscript proper police forces and militias to maintain order in their country under rule of law.

Haiti and her people have consistently failed to this end and it's time that Haiti and her people were helped to recognize this and that the rest of the world sees it for what it is.

In My country we can build a development with hundred of new fully equipped beautiful homes in under 6 months.

In Haiti, it's almost a year later and they are living in tent cities.

What is the problem? they have the resources of the world at their hands and they are living in tents?

It's ridiculous.

I agree lack of education is the problem

Not just in Haiti either. :)

It is important that the whole world become enlightened to the arts and sciences and all the offshoots of that.

If too many people are living hand to mouth, regression to primitive thinking is not far off and that opens a whole new can of worms.

Sad to watch when you know the solution is in their grasp. they just need to reach out of their own free will and get it.

There are too many people packed too close together to just drink the limited purified water.

Where was the Cholera before the total breaking down of services?

In the river water they are drinking and there are lots of water purifiers there.
What they need is a complete treatment plant set up it would seem.

That was awesome.

THis is an amazing solution, If people don't have to stay in the gigantic camps then they can back on track with their lives and everything moves foreward. It seems like the perfect solution.....

In all countries in all the world education is the main problem. If america had an education system that worked people as dumb as O'donnell wouldn't get a sniff of power.

But thats also a problem that takes a good 30 years to fix, as you need to educate from a young age and then the educated have to grow up and make the decisions. As a quick fix the lifesaver bottle (video above) is AWESOME.
