I'm real curious about other martial arts. More specifically exotic martial arts that not much is known about. I was wondering if you knew of any of these martial arts that might be used in African tribes, or from any other parts of the world.

Thanx
Andrew

There was a program on the A&E about MA about two years ago. In that program they speculated that MA may have originated in Africa because of drawings found at Beni Hason (sp). These drawings outlined a complete fighting system and predated any of the Chinese writings. I later saw an issue of Martial Arts Legions about black martial arts. It has photos of the drawings.

This might give you a starting point in your research. Good Luck.

There are African Martial Arts in Africa. The stuff promoted by in the USA is just wishful thinking on the part of Afrocentrists. Not much online info but here are a few links

Also try perusing these sites for plenty of examples of Western European Martial Arts.
