i dont see what was done to warrant locking the threads??? i dont understand, what was bad about the posts in those threads??? i cant find anything in either that would be considered abusive or anything...

i wasnt gonna say anything, but since you posted this thread talking about it, i will...

did you lock them? if yes, why? if no, who and why???

i know blue will assume you just wanted your last word then locked it cause he feels he's winning every argument he makes... but i'd like to give you the benefit of doubt and i'll just ask you str8 out... whuttup??? im not criticising, i just dont get it...

so for the good of the forum and for future reference could you please outline exactly why this happened so we can grow as a community and try to avoid repeating this...

And we still don't know who did it.

And don't forget my account has been monkeyed with twice in the last few months. My 1bad65 account was banned, and this one had access to the Off Topic section blocked. I had to have Gene fix this account. I never asked if he knew who didi it, but Gene did say he didn't do it.

The same thing happened to Royal_Dragon's account, but only on the main forum. He never was able to access his original account.

There are three moderators for this section. Me, Vash, and Oso. None of us have the access to do anything except lock/edit threads. I didn't close those threads, but Vash or Oso might have.

I don't know if the account locking is a bug of it was deliberate. There are 4 "super" moderators: Gene, Gigi, Renegade Monk, and Design Sifu. If any of those 4 don't want you around, then it's their prerogative.

I don't recall Vash, Gigi, Reneagde Monk, or Design Sifu even posting in the locked threads, so maybe it is a bug. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.

If you change your email address in your account, you have to re-verify before you can access forums again.

Nothing personal about RD, but he can barely use the quote function and it is highly likely that his account issues was a p.e.b.k.a.c :p

Your 1bad65 account was banned because of the vitriol and overtly negative political attacks you were into making. Which you have now transferred over to this account...lol

I suggest you look up Einstein's commentary on what he believed insanity to be. :p

I didn't change my e-mail address. And we all know I didn't do anything worthy of banning. I never even got a warning. It's all good though, it appears to have been sorted out.

Is that the one about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

Kinda like we keep seeing socialism fail over and over and over, but some people swear it will work if we just get the right people in charge of implementing it.

yes

Kinda like we keep seeing socialism fail over and over and over, but some people swear it will work if we just get the right people in charge of implementing it.

I've seen communism collapse because of corruption within moreso than the communist idea itself.

Socialism is an aspect that mine and many countries use.

You don't seem to realize that it is capitalism that has failed the world most recently. And that failure in capitalism that was the wall street world rip off pig in a poke fiasco may indeed spark many to enact what could be deemed socialist measures at protecting our societies from the thieves and wolves of capitalism.

So, most of Europe is socialist in some way, Canada is and so are a great many other countries that are doing fine.

I''m not sure you know what socialism is outside of a catchword from a sound byte that complains about Obama a lot. lol

But there you are, paying taxes, driving on the public roads contributing your share of the funding required to run police and fire departments, your schools and libraries and other various social programs designed to make all Americans have a little bit of a better life than those countries that do not have those social mechanisms.

LOL :D

So I was correct. It's the height of stupidity to take a system that repeatedly fails but tell people it won't if only they put people 'the right people' in charge.

Yup, they use it. And we haven't until recently and in our short history we surpassed all those other countries.

And capitalism didn't fail. It's hit a bump in the road, but it did not fail. Failure is when your country implodes (like the USSR) or millions and millions starve to death because of an inefficient system (Communist China, USSR, and North Korea to a lesser extent).

As to our problems here, it wasn't caused by capitalism run amok, it was caused by Gov't interference in the housing market (namely throught the CRA and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac backing junk mortgages).

You guys healthcare system is running in the red, and your politicans come here for life-or-death medical care. And Europe isn't doing well at all, Spain, Portugal, Iceland, and Greece are all facing bankruptcy, while the UK is facing mass protests due to entitlement cuts that must be made.

As to Obama, he is without a doubt a socialist. You may not like accepting it, or you can call it a 'buzzword' 'catch phrase' etc, but when you say you want to "Spread the wealth around", you are a socialist plain and simple.

The famine in China you are referring to was not due to the inefficiencies of an economic system, but to a massive blunder: turning a majority of farms into steel mills.

N. Korea suffers famine because they spend something like 98% of their GDP on their military (coupled with international economic sanctions). This is the same underlying reason for the collapse of the USSR; not anything senile old Reagan did.

No where in the world does a system of pure capitalism or socialism exist. These are nothing more than outdated theoretical terminology that pundits use to rile up the microcephalic.

So the communist Gov't forceibly turned farms into steel mills but it wasn't the communist system at fault for the starvation?

And that doesn't explain North Korea or the USSR's food shortages either.

Reagan caused it pure and simple. He openly told us the plan, it was put in action, and it worked. He said if we ramped up our military spending, financed 'Star Wars', and deployed the Pershing II missiles in Europe, the USSR would have to spend so much more on defense they would go bankrupt. You can call him senile all you want, but it just shows even a senile old fool knew that communism is a flawed system that will always collapse. Too bad an Ivy League educated community agitator can't figure that out.

There is a reason Eastern Europe has many statues of Reagan now instead of the statues of Lenin and Stalin, and that Reagan is referred to as "The Great Liberator" in that part of the world.

Then Castro, Stalin, et al must be pundits. They themselves refer to it as "Socialism" "Communism" etc. Notice we have Communist Parties running countries all around the world, but I've yet to a Capitalist Party run one.
