China may not have talent but they do have balls of steel as this contestant in a Chinese version of a talent show revealed.

The programme shown on CCTV, China Central Television, invited the best of the best in the country to show off their talents including Shaolin monk Yong Hsueh who is a practitioner of the rare martial art known as "steel balls Kungfu"

He told the audience: "Steel crotch Kongfu is an ancient art, with roots stretching back to ancient China. It’s a practice to strengthen and protect the male genital organs so there is less chance they are injured or incapacitated in battle."

Cross legged male members of the audience watched in shock as various members of the panel were invited to boot the monk between the legs - who simply bowed and smiled after each blow.

The art of steel ball kungfu is divided into hard balls Kungfu - and soft balls Kungfu.

The monk said hard crotch Kongfu could only be learned by a student that started in childhood - pushing their balls into their body where they could not be hurt, so that no matter how hard he is kicked his balls are protected.

But those who start learning too late can only learn soft balls Kungfu, which is reportedly also good for improving the man's sex life.
Kung Fu soft balls. Now there's a concept the forum could run with...

A Shaolin monk stunned viewers by allowing judges of a television show to kick him in the groin.

The programme, which is similar to South Africa's own 'SA's Got Talent', appeared on China Central Television.

Contestant Yong Hsueh, who told the audience that he practices the rare martial art of "steel crotch Kung Fu", showed off his ability to withstand the blows, bowing and smiling after each kick.

"Steel crotch Kung Fu is an ancient art, with roots stretching back to ancient China," he said.

"It's a practice to strengthen and protect the male genital organs so there is less chance they are injured or incapacitated in battle."

According to Yong Hsueh, the art is divided into two parts — "hard crotch Kung Fu" and "soft crotch Kung Fu".

The former, which Yong Hsueh says involves pushing the testicles back into the body, can only be learned from childhood. But "soft crotch Kung Fu" can be learned later in life... especially by men who want to improve their sex life, says Yong Hsueh.
Whatever the rules of this game show may be, I sure hope Yong Hsueh wins.

And what would a monk need with an improved sex life? Don't answer. It's a trick question. ;)

I'm sorry, but 'soft balls' in this context is disgusting and terrifying.
Mashed potatoes anyone?

They were actually talking about this on the syndicated radio show "Bob and Tom" the day after the show aired. As one would expect, they didn't pronounce Shaolin correctly.
