BTW, this is OT, but we're thinking of awarding rings at TCKFMCIII (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57943). What do you think of that? They will be really nice rings - expensive, but cool.

i think a ring is an excellent idea. its far more personal than many types of trophys and can be a stronger momento of a great event, as you can wear it regularly and keep it 'handy'

the downside is that they can be more easily lost, as well as the participants will need to pay to resize them to their hand.

but over all i think rings are a great idea.

I agree, I used to have a very nice Kyokushin ring, given to me by one of the head instructors of the Kyokushinkai-kan, but it was "lost" when I moved from my ex's many years ago...
