I found this ironic and funny at the same time.

"DELANO, Calif. -- A Central California man who was at a ****fight died after being stabbed in the leg by a bird that had a knife attached to its own limb, officials confirmed Monday.

Jose Luis Ochoa, 35, of Lamont, was declared dead at a hospital about two hours after he was injured in neighboring Tulare County on Jan. 30, the Kern County coroner said.

An autopsy concluded Ochoa died of an accidental "sharp force injury" to his right calf.

Sheriff's spokesman Ray Pruitt said it was unclear if a delay in seeking medical attention contributed to Ochoa's death.

"I have never seen this type of incident," Sgt. Martin King, a 24-year veteran of the sheriff's department, told the Bakersfield Californian.

Ochoa and the other spectators fled when authorities arrived at the scene of the fight, King told the newspaper. Deputies found five dead roosters and other evidence of ****fighting at the location, he said.

No arrests were made at the ****fight.

****fighting is a sport, illegal in the United States, in which specially bred roosters are put into a ring and encouraged to fight until one is incapacitated or killed.

According to Kern County Superior Court records, Ochoa paid $370 in fines last year after pleading no contest to one count of owning or training an animal for fighting, according to the newspaper.

Attending or organizing a ****fight, or training an animal to participate in one, are all misdemeanors under California law, although a second offense is a felony."

The injury was par for the course. Those "Spurs" they put on the gamefowls' legs are razor sharp.

What I don't get is how the "sharp force injury" killed the victim. Hemmorhage seems most likely, but the news article is unclear on that. I wish there were more details.

Long overdue, like I tell all my dates, an angry c-o-c-k is a dangerous thing.

no doubt it was hemorrhage. Probably bled out from a severed artery.
people who fight animals like that are cruel in their hearts.
They don't care much for elan vital and life.

Some say "oh, it's cultural" I say that's poppycock.
Wearing a given headress is cultural, dancing a celebration is cultural, forcing other living beings to kill each other for entertainment is culture less. It is cruel.

So, for this one person who has died unfortunately, it is a small retribution for the perhaps hundreds or thousands of living beings that have been tortured and killed for amusements purposes.

Some other news reports say that the bird was a high level practitioner from the Dog Brothers' academy.:D

Chinese city plans to attract tourists with ****FIGHTING and will host legal arenas in its markets and bazaars (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3544270/Chinese-city-plans-attract-tourists-****fighting-host-legal-arenas-markets-bazaars.html)

A remote city in north-west China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is planning to use ****fighting as a way to attraction tourists.

The controversial sport has been a part of Turpan's history for more than 280 years.

Now, the city hopes the introduction of a ****fighting association will help bring in visitors from other parts of the country.

Turpan, north-west China, will establish ****fighting association by end of this year according to city official

Around one sixth of the city's population, about 100,000 people, is already involved in the ****fighting industry.

In an interview with the state news agency Xinhua, Turpan government official Perhat Kadir said: 'Just like Spain is famous for bullfighting, we hope that ****fighting can become a hallmark for Turpan.'

Part of this involves setting up a ****fighting association, which will be established by the end of the year.

The association will be used to promote the sport and will be involved in setting up 'arenas' in local markets and bazaars.

It will also help regulate the industry.

Kadir said: 'We will bring it into the daylight from underground so that illegal gambling is eliminated.'

China has had a ****fighting tradition dating back thousands of years.

And while it remains legal in the country, and fights take place across the country, it's not considered a mainstream activity.

Betting on the sport and sale of the birds generates substantial turnover for those involved.

According to cankaoxiaoxi.com, Ismail Iblahim, who is considered the king of ****fighting in Xinjiang, sells the game fowls he breeds for as much as 30,000 Yuan (£3,000) each.

Leanne Plumtree, a spokesman from RSPCA told MailOnline Travel: '****fighting may have a long tradition in this part of China, but that does not make what is a very cruel "sport" any more acceptable.

'****fighting causes enormous suffering to the birds involved, who often fight - for long periods of time - to the death.

'****fighting was made illegal in England and Wales in 1835 and in Scotland 60 years later. We'd urge UK tourists not to support events which promote animal cruelty.'
