A taxi driver who was caught for illegal parking drove off with a traffic cop on the hood of his car in an attempt to escape.
Chongqing traffic policeman Fan Zengxu saw a taxi parked in a restricted area while making his usual traffic rounds.
According to the Chongqing Economic Times, when they tried to get the driver's licence, he refused and rammed his car into Fan, who was standing in front of the vehicle.
The cab driver then attempted to speed off - with Fan, who had jumped onto the hood, hanging on for dear life.
The driver was forced to stop after eight motorists, who saw the cop hanging on to the hood, chased after him. The one-way chase went on for 1 km at speeds up to 60km/h.
Fan suffered spinal injuries, and is now resting at home. The driver was arrested.
