Vanquisher is our KungFuMagazine.com biweekly sweepstakes prize for 02/25/2011-03/10/2011. (http://www.kungfumagazine.net/index.html) I don't know much about it beyond the promotional copy, but it's coming from Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet Releasing (http://www.magnetreleasing.com) label, and they've provided so many great DVD prizes for us lately, plus it's part of the new wave Thai action cinema in the wake of Tony Jaa, Jeeja Yasmin and Panna Rittikrai. From writer and Director Manop Udomdej (Lizard Woman, Macabre Case of Prom Pi Ram) Vanquisher features rising martial arts action star Sophita Sribanchean, as CIA agent Genja who is betrayed by her own agency and forced into hiding after a covert mission goes awry. Having narrowly escaped an attempt on her life, Genja comes out of hiding and resurfaces in Bangkok with a vengeance to find out who wants her dead and to help stop another fatal crime from happening. The clock is ticking in her pursuit of retribution and justice, and she must fight for her survival as she meets up with old 'friends' along the way.
Loaded with extreme martial arts combat and action-fueled battles, the Vanquisher Blu-ray Disc and DVD features bonus materials including deleted scenes and a 'making-of' featurette, and will be available for the suggested retail price of $29.98 and $26.98, respectively.
Synopsis
