The Anthony Weiner resignation press conference was hilarious. Gotta love the question one heckler asked, "Are you more than 7 inches?"

You're only a pervert if you get caught...and I, my friend, was acquitted!

It still amazes me that these people just don't say it's none of your freaking business, eff off. I don't care if they're sorry, I'm not married to them. Its a huge (pardon the pun) circus.

Now that I think about it, it is kind of an election reform.

America's puritan values are weird. Considering it also shelters, allows and has companies that run the largest porn industry on the face of the earth.

hey one bad, when you are masturbating to a picture of some random chick on teh web do you regard yourself as a pervert for doing so?

when you make an attempt (or made perhaps in the past) at picking up a girl in the bar because she's pretty and you really want to have sex with her more than you are interested in her for her, is that you being a pervert?

Seriously, you folks and your legislation and your puritan morals are just weird!
We have it here too! And it's weird here. But you guys really make a circus of boobs and weenies.

It's hilarious to watch such a powerful country, with so much wealth not be able to deal with it's collective sexuality.

I'll tell you what I don't do.

I don't tell law enforcement my computer was hacked, I don't say it was someone else, I don't say it was a joke, I don't take pics of myself in the House gym, I don't tell porn stars to lie, and I don't text with 17-year olds. And I'm not being paid by taxpayers while doing those things.

I don't have a problem with him sexting anyone (as long as they are of age). My problem lies with what he did after he got caught.

you never had to explain yourself. If you did have to explain yoruself for sexual peccadilloes do you think you might be a lityl;e evasive, oh and the thing he did...is that against the law?

If it isn't, why are the police involved? You tell me.

And if expressing yourself sexually IS against the law. I gotta ask you, why do you think that is? I understand laws against rape and child abuse and sexual harrassment, but consensual exchange of a picture of what appears to be a ***** IN underwear?

that's illegal in your country?

you guys are fizzucked, collectively if you think the whole Tony the weiner episode is gonna break your country, state, city...

You should be ashamed of spending tax dollars on yoru weird ass war engagements. Now THAT is something to be ashamed of!

I would totally tell them that it was hacked and maintain it to the end. I have sent picks of my **** to girls. If you haven't, then you don't know how to use the net as a little black book from God. I can keep track of 20 women, send them vague group messages and the whole group will think our relationship is progressing. He had a cack he was proud of. So what? He sent a picture to a woman who wasn't his wife.....oohhh. All that tells me is that dude has play. You have no play? You aren't fit to lead.

I dont understand why that republican senator that was on the prostitution list wasn't held to the same standard??? he lied then and is still lying about it, he comitted a crime, he ran on fam values and high morals. yet not one republican called for him to resign... i agree weiner had to go, not cause he did what he did, but cause he lied about it... but a majority of his constituents that were polled seem to already forgive him...

i dont care about the sex, have a 300 person orgy for all i care, just dont be a liar about it... hold ur head high and say "yeah, i fukced them all.... WHAT???"

i think weiner only lied coz of the wife part, but its still lying...

yeah thats pretty sad...

i will never understand how these guys can play dirty back and forth politics and stand there and front like its all genuine... they ALL do it... its pathetic... the clinton thing was a prime example... the head he got in his office was private and had no reason to be made public aside from an attempt to smear the other side...

whats really sad is that it was newt at the head of it... now theres a fine truth telling monogamous type of guy... and you can tell alot about a man by who his woman is, and newts woman is the dumbest b1tch ive seen in a while... she'll prolly cost him the nomination too, as if he had a chance anyways...

Elected officials and people who work for the public(i.e. police, firemen, etc.) are held to a higher standard. As they should be. We're people too, and we make mistakes. Having that higher standard helps to keep the more rational of us in check.

Hmmm interesting. i understand your point. Now, if he was texting kids and sending pics to kids i'd expect him to be arrested and forgotten about. but for me, i think of it as more of a "oops, you caught me" a surely embarrassing moment for anyone. IDK maybe i'm too liberal in this sense, but i feel what the man does on his own time is his business unless it had to do with children.

do you feel he should have resigned? and the "are you more than 7 inches comment?" why is it ONLY white guys would ask a question like that? i never hear latin folk, black folk, or asian and middle eastern people asking question like that. (when i say WHITE GUYS i mean guys whose world only includes those types who don't associate with anyone other that whiteys.)

It happens on both sides, so why is this a big deal?

I mean, the current President of the United States sat and listened to some guy spew hate and racism for 20 years.

So we agree.

As to RC:

"It happens on both sides, so why is this a big deal?"

I was saying it's no big deal. I wasn't trying to excuse the actions. I was simply pointing out both sides do do it so it's no big deal. I was trying to wrap up the issue, not play tit-for-tat.

Except the thing you said was "no big deal" was a virulently racist email sent by a Republican county official which depicted President Obama as a chimpanzee. Nor did you condemn said email, you justified it by saying "it happens on both sides..." Not once in that thread did you say what she did was wrong. I'm not saying your racist (because I don't believe you are), but you certainly made an excuse for racism on that thread.

Oh, and saying "the other side does it too" is pretty much the definition of tit-for-tat.

It's BS because as you said, it's not illegal, so there's no crime. Just some infidelity, or maybe not even that. Did anyone talk to his wife? Maybe they are in a more open relationship?

I think he got uptight because he knew what a pack of idiots the press would be over it. Why not try to limit the damage from the idiots who harp on about things even though they are pretty normal and perfectly legal?

what does keeping the books balanced, making your votes according to your constituents wishes and writing bills have to do with flirting with women?

And I'm being serious here. I've said several times that the guy said his account was hacked. That's a serious problem. First off, giving false information to police is a crime. Second, it wasn't just possible infidelity, it was the lies he told to try and get out of it.

so, are you in support of less government and more freedom?
Or do you support this sort of public humiliation and crucifixion in the name of lawless accusation and trial by kangaroo peoples court?
