I had a question about the cover article.

On page page 42, the article about Yongyao states his practices Iron Palm and Golden Finger. It says the ability to escape any lock you attempt.

Can you elaborate on that for us? Is it saying that he can escape any finger holds?

It's sort of a Shaolin trick. Shi Sugang did a similar stunt (see my article An Iron Head Points to the Moon: Shaolin Wushuguan's Senior Master, Monk Shi Sugang -
Shaolin Special 2005 (http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/magazine/article.php?article=590)). Sort of reminds me of the ol' pull my finger trick.

I tried Yongyao's skill at his insistence. He restricts the holds you can apply somewhat, and kept repositioning my hands to his advantage. I've studied a little qinna so I was trying to set up some more advantageous starting positions, but he was wise to what I was doing and just wouldn't let me start from there. So in truth, it's not any lock. Nevertheless, he is really slippery from most locks.
