Since we are talking about 1929 Lei Tai event, let's talk about 1933 Lei Tai event too.

In 1933, the institute again hosted the national competition. The rules said, "...if death occurs as a result of boxing injuries and fights, the coffin with a body of the deceased will be sent home." Some of the top winners of this contest include:

Chang Tong Sheng (1908-1986) of Shuai Jiao style. He won the heavy weight division and earned the martial nickname “Flying Butterfly”.

yes.

1930s were considered golden years for the country and nationalist government.

there were a lot economic buildup especially on all coastal cities. economic growth and infrastructures.

however, japan full invasion occurred in 1937. within a year, all the coastal cities were bombed and occupied.

the young nationalist government and china foundation were shaken and weakened. the economic boom was cut short and never to recover.
