No, that is NOT what Jesus said nor what I said.
Jesus wa spointing out that the Law given to Moses ( 10 commandments) said to honour the father and mother, he then pointed out what was later added (‘Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must surely die.) was NOT enforced blindly for obvious reason.
He points out they they themselves are guilt of "interpreting the law" within the context of the crime.
One would add rightly so.
What made them hypcrites is that they were cricitising Him and His followers for doing just that in regards to the "law" of hand washing.
As Jesus stated earlier, the law of the sabath itself was up for interpretation because the sabbath ( and law) was made for man, not the other way around.
You have to take the context of the WHOLE conversation and the fact that Jesus was accusing them of being hypocrites.
