I went to the press conference. Dana White is very charismatic in person. I enjoyed listening to him answer press questions.

Wandy is much bigger than Cung in person.

Anyone know what kinda weight cut goes through? I know I read that he barely cuts for 185. Silva is a pretty big 85 and fought LH in pride. Hopefuly Cung can stay out of the clinch or be able to do some shanshou throws. ANd for fun go for broke and bing back the scissors takedown.

I just watched to fight this morning, looks like Cung got caught with a few hard clips. Is it me or did I notice that he dropped his hands an awful lot? I wonder who's next for him? How many fights does he have in his contract?

Oh well, he's still a champ in my book!

Have to say, Shogun vs Henderson blew me away.

UFC took good care of me. I was seated ringside - press seat A 19 - right behind the ring girls. Best seat in the house. I've never been that close to the cage for such a major event.

Shogun vs. Hendo - wow. I was on the edge of my seat for 25 minutes. What a fight!

UFC puts on a great show. I had my trepidations as there was a delay in getting my press pass cleared, and of course, being from the Bay Area, I've been supporting Strikeforce since the first legal fight in CA. This was my first UFC show, and I now see why they are #1. Fantastic production value - very professional and very entertaining - simply spectacular.

Unfortunately, I didn't apply for a photo pass, so I wasn't allowed to take photos from my seat. I took some outside the press zone and will post those later today, along with more comments.

It is my earnest wish that all of you get to see a live UFC event someday. Every martial artist should treat themselves to at least one UFC event in their lifetime.

I recorded the fight on DVR. What a tough loss for Cung Le.

Losing in front of the hometown crowd and so brutally.

He did put up a good fight though.

I wonder if he will fight again.

One the plus side he did win fight of the night in his UFC debut.

I didn't post many as I didn't apply for a photo pass, so I couldn't shoot from the press area. That was my bad. This was my first live UFC fight, so I wasn't familiar with press protocols. Next time, I'll try to bring a photographer.

Wandy at the post-fight conference. At least Cung laid a few good ones on him.

He certainly cashed out big on this fight. He actually made more because this figure doesn't account for the fight of the night bonus, which Dana awarded to both Shogun vs. Hendo and Cung v.s Wandy. That's another $70K.

UFC 139 Fighter Salaries: Cung Le Tops the Payroll (http://mmaweekly.com/ufc-139-fighter-salaries-cung-le-tops-the-payroll)

The California State Athletic Commission on Monday released the UFC 139 fighter salaries.

Dan Henderson scored a unanimous decision victory over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in what most are calling an instant classic. It was a stunning back-and-forth battle over five rounds, both fighters nearly succumbing on multiple occasions.

UFC 139: Shogun vs. Henderson took place Saturday, Nov. 19, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

The following figures are based on the fighter salary information that promoters are required by law to submit to the state athletic commissions, including the winners’ bonuses.

Although mixed martial arts fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, the fighters’ salaries are still public record, just as with every other major sport in the United States. Any undisclosed bonuses that a promoter also pays its fighters, but does not disclose to the athletic commissions (specifically, pay-per-view bonuses, fight of the night bonuses, etc.), are not included in the figures below.

UFC 139 FIGHTER SALARIES

Dan Henderson: $250,000 (no win bonus)
def. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua: $165,000

Wanderlei Silva: $200,000 (no win bonus)
def. Cung Le: $350,000

Urijah Faber: $64,000 (includes $32,000 win bonus)
def. Brian Bowles: $19,000

Martin Kampmann: $58,000 (includes $29,000 win bonus)
def. Rick Story: $19,000

Stephan Bonnar: $68,000 (includes $34,000 win bonus)
def. Kyle Kingsbury: $10,000

Ryan Bader: $48,000 (includes $24,000 win bonus)
def. Jason Brilz: $13,000

Michael McDonald: $14,000 (includes $7,000 win bonus)
def. Alex Soto: $6,000

Chris Weidman: $24,000 (includes $12,000 win bonus)

I just talked to Cung. He's doing well. He heals fast. He emailed me these photos to post. The first one, the 'day after' pic, has already been circulated a lot on the web.

Hendo vs. Shogun was the best MMA match that I have ever seen live.

Mixed Martial Arts - Henderson stops Shogun in rematch (http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/mixed-martial-arts-henderson-stops-shogun-rematch-211748754--mma.html)
Dan Henderson stopped Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at UFC Fight Night 38 in a hard-hitting rematch between the two.

Eurosport - Dan Henderson
The rematch did not last as long as the first war, but it was no less brutal.
Back in 2011, Henderson won a razor-close decision over "Shogun" Rua after five rounds but Sunday it took "Hendo" under three rounds to knock the former UFC light heavyweight champion out with a right hook to the nose and strikes on the ground.
"This one probably means more than most," the two-time Olympic wrestler and two-division world champion said.
"'Shogun' has been such a big part of mixed martial arts and is such a talented and tough fighter."
In the first round, Henderson and Rua traded left punches and knockdowns. Henderson struck first, rocking the Brazilian before eating a right-left combo himself, next, and getting dropped to the mat.
From there, Rua finished the round on top of Henderson. In the second round, Shogun dropped Henderson again with a huge uppercut punch.
Henderson managed to survive the round but appeared to be on his way out of the fight, heading into the third period. Rua paid for letting Henderson stick around when, in the third round, "Hollywood Dan" threw a right hook on separation from the clinch with his younger foe that landed right on the button on Rua and dropped the home town fighter.
Rua spun and rolled backwards on the mat before Henderson followed up with punches to the head, forcing referee Herb Dean to step in and call a halt to the bout. The win snaps a three-right losing streak for Henderson.
The loss is Rua's third in his last four bouts.
