I know it is not TCMA but since there is always the debate as to why people do martial arts, I wanted to share this video (maybe it has been shared before... I don't know)... granted this person will never fight in a cage, spar, or anything of that matter but the true spirit of the martial arts and what kung fu truly signifies shines through:)
It is truly inspiring... just watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVgg7S-0QCo

Awesome!!!
Thanks for sharing. I'm forwarding that clip to a group that I do a lot of work with called DisAbility Connections. You're right - it's very inspiring and reminds me of what the martial arts are supposed to be about.

Excellent.
Truly, the spirit of MA shines through in those that go beyond what OTHERS view as their "limits".

I know a guy missing the lower half of one arm.... he's a killer on the mat and has developed a quite powerful BJJ for himself. He trains at Renzos.
In fact, in some ways he's harder to deal with because I can't lock one of his arms. And the other is like steal.

I always mention this article, but some years back I read about a judo coach who had a one armed student who won his first competition by way of a technique which had a common counter that involved the arm this student didn't have.
