nice use of forward pressure and gow choy, certainly took the other guy by surprise

nice to see him hitting out to in and trying to occupy the centre and compress his opponent arms

left his head exposed and a more expereinced fighter might have picked him off but he looked good

great example of what happens when one fighter allows the other to work exclusively from his comfort range: tall guy should be more practiced in dealing with guys who, due to their shorter range, will try to jam him up and get inside - tall guy had the right idea for mid to long range, but had no plan for keeping someone outside and what to do w them when they got in - a fighter w a better clinch game would have pulled the SPM guy in past his own comfort range and worked throws from the clinch; SPM guy lead w his body open and face exposed a fair amount - against someone w more comfort fighting at that range he might have had a much harder time, so he should work on closing the gap and getting into that range without over-exposing himself; that said, he def did make the SPM strategy work for him in terms of footwork and, to some degree, covering when he entered, and maintaining his structure effectively (that is, he seemed to be / stay "connected" in terms of what SPM / so. shrt hand in general looks for in order to maintain it's preferred type of delivery system);

I've seen a few SPM and WC guys that tend to take their "extended" hands a bit too literally and move in with their head far more open then they should.
They ALL eventually pay for it.
Some are lucky to pay for it in sparring and make the changes, others not so lucky.

It looked like he was ready to take one to get inside, and it was a case of the guy having no game against something he hadn't seen.
He seemed to be able to slip most attacks and bridge in. He also seemed to attack the neck a bit...

Nice vid, thanks.

Nice one and thanks for posting. The Mantis guy did not seem to have the Internal body connection, but his gao choi still had venom. He also DID NOT go back and forth as in Kick Boxing. He did use a little bit of angling, which I guess went some way in compensating for his lack of higher gate guard.

Interesting stuff. :)
