Davenport Iowa home of the Ving Tsun Martial Arts Association is holding the 2011 fall seminar held by Ip Ching Student Matt Johnson.
The November seminar will focus on Siu Lim Tau & Chum Kiu and how the relationship between the forms can be broke down and understood into chi sau. Questions and answer period will be discussed at the end of each form.
The goal is to properly learn the three fist boxing sets “Siu Lim Tau, Chum Kiu and Biu Jee” the strive and goal is to gain a deeper understanding of how the techniques, positions and theories are all applied from the forms and practiced in Chi Sau. Without the understanding of the three boxing sets chi sau they just becomes random movement.
The ongoing seminars are the tools that take each form to a higher level of skill and understanding.
The focus is to pass on the true teachings of Ip Ching as passed onto him by his father Ip Man. Sifu Matt Johnson has set the standards of the Ip Ching Ving Tsun System and continues to teach this skill, the same as it has been taught by his Sifu Ip Ching.
