What are your thoughts on Pac Sau, Lop Sau, Bil Sau, Dan Che Sau? Also what other drills and techniques do you employ in your training.

Also please feel free to critique

great job.

the arm will be better if it can be adjust up to face level, and may be control the strength of the spring.

I use to use tree trunk to practice these when I was in college since I live in dorm. and ofcorse wearing a pair of safety glasses.

I like it, and when I have the space and money (and semi-approval of the wife) for such things, you bet I will be buying from you guys.

Geeze Luise,
Am I the only one who is fighting NOT to make a Phallic connection upon 1st glance of that dummy?

on a serious note and getting past the phallic issues, the angle and direction of the pressure seem wrong for me with regards many of the techniques being practised. For example the guy in the vid is having to press down with his techniques to generate resistance, which is not the angle that a punch would be travelling from and develops habits such as flattening the tarn sau ( fine if you want to transition to po pai jeung but in general). If the spring loading was towards the practitioner it would be more useful but then again thats what frame mounted dummies provide.

@Shaolinhouse - I noticed you had a video about constructing the dummy arms. Any vids about making dummy bodies? Also, in the background of the arm-making video are those planks of wood being laminated to turn into bodies?

I can't determine if it is representive of a tall man or a short man. Actually, the arm is mounted sort of low. I would change the shape it if were mine too.

Again, erection jokes aside, thanks for posting these vids. Very cool. What type of glue do you use to laminate the planks together?

Pak Sau, Lop Sau,Jut Sau, Jum Sau, Huen Sau and Bil Sau are a few of techniques I train. of course there is more. One should have a partner to drill them with...its better with a partner than a dummy in my opinion.

Do San Shou drills with a partner. Try and see which techniques you can utilize in lok sau or chi sau. Also Practice bridging the gap with these techniques to see how they work when trying to gain entry...

Then employ them in inside sparring and outside sparring to get use to actually using them realistically. Start with three our four techniques and work your way up to eight. Once you are use to employing these techniques in free-for-all sparring. Try it with different partners outside of WC.
