Can anyone give me any information about Ho Chun (Chinese Martial Arts)?

It is located on 1000 river street, Akron Ohio.

I want to know any reviews, what styles, and anyone's personal experience.

I have not found any information on my online search.

as you are a newbie to the forum, are you sure you are not just trying to promote that style?

Thank you. I found some posts about this on the site, but was unsure if it was the same. I appreciate your help.

I feel this will be much more useful to me than TKD.

Opinions? or is that a no-no on this forum?

I was sort of thinking it might be a school for women that teaches Wing Chun. Thanks for clearing that up.

Nope, it's basically Chinese wrestling with big throws.
It is Northern, but isn't a forms based style.

Shuai jiao = "Throw horn"

More like the Chinese version of Judo...but better, harder, faster, stronger.

Poster called YouKnowWho is also a student of GM Chang. He is a teacher and practitioner of Shuai Jiao and is probably the best informed on the art of all of us here.

Their school is just south of us here in Cleveland. They come up for our tournament sometimes. The guys I met a couple a years ago were a nice bunch. They seemed like all around good guys and their SC was good too!

This is Master Gene Chicoine's school.

He is a very old school Kung Fu teacher.

Did you call the school tonight, by chance?

We have a new prospective student who may be starting Saturday. A beginners' class will be starting THIS Saturday.

If you're interested show up, or let me know if you have any questions.

In all honesty, I was at the class this past Saturday. In my original post, I was asking in broad terms to learn as much as could about the school. I didn't know Ho Chun was as well known as it is.

After this past Saturday and what information I got from this forum, I'm really pumped for this up coming class. I've been trying to condition myself, mostly just punching in horse stance, and cardio.

I would have never guessed that such a reputable teacher was 5 minutes away from my house.

I want to take this opportunity to learn as much as I can.
