THIS IS A MASSIVE STORY THAT WILL FUEL UP THE NEWS FOR MONTHS...

REMEMBER WERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST"

Can't be. The world ends tomorrow. But first they have to rebuild the Tower of Babel, implement martial law on the USA, put microchips in everyone, and then ban religion...

I thought the world end on December 21, 2012.

I hate that date.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that it's the end of a cycle, nothing more. Anyone who bothers to take ten minutes to read about the truth of the Mayan calender will see very quickly that in no way shape or form does anything related to the Mayan calender relate to the end of the world.

Why does it mean ANYTHING? Seriously... why are people suddenly taking ANYTHING the Mayans say seriously?

Oh, yeah... because they said the world is going to -end/change/startnewcycle-. NOW they are legit.

We should probably start beheading people to appease the gods, too. Why get off to a bad start?

its the end of an age. Mayans never claimed it was the end of the world. it was those wierdos that do.

I've been to the Museo Nacional de Antropologia in Mexico City and seen the one they have there. It's truly awesome. A huge slab of intricately carved stone. Like so many great works of art, there's nothing like the feeling of standing before it. It's massive. That being said, I think they just ran out of stone.

But no worries. We TCMA people here will be prepared for the zombie apocalypse. After all, everyone knows you can't grapple with zombies. They bite. The best counter for zombies? You know it (http://www.martialartsmart.com/45-84cs.html).

I am sure the Spanish had a little something to do with the calender not being continued ;)

It's a calculation cycle. It's a mathematical marvel. That's why it's interesting. When I say new cycle I mean NEW CYCLE in the calendar. Like new year for us except it's the end of their calendar. The reason why they didn't bother to calculate further is simply because it didn't matter. They had what they needed for the next 5000 years. Plenty of time to renew a calendar. It's equivalent to not buying a 2013 calendar today. Why would you bother?

Don't be reading mystical sh1t out of my words. Recognize. I'm not talking about some retarded life cycle bullsh1t or a "new era" kind of thang. It's strictly math. the only reason why it's interesting is because it was so freakin' accurate. Especially for supposed barbarians. It's intellectual curiosity playbwoy, not some fake faith or belief garbage. Leave that weakness for the creationists. It's all theirs.

Nice how your mind went to sacrifice in a Mayan thread tho. That's some fruedian sh1t right there.

I was there some three decades ago but I still remember the main display room quite clearly. The calendar loomed impressively over the main showroom, which was also filled with other artifacts, a lot of things discussed in von Daniken's Chariots of the Gods, which I was very familiar with at the time. So many pieces in fact, that I remember thinking that von Daniken just got stoned, went in that room, and wrote his book. When you actually read the descriptions, they debunked a lot of von Daniken's claims.

Yeah it stands to reason that the room was built for the calendar, not the other way around. They knew EXACTLY how much space they needed in order to print the cycle. No running outta room about it. I'm pretty sure that is the common consensus among the leading scholars these days. I think the problem with the earlier interpretation of evidence was that the people looking in to it were not willing to attribute the kind of intelligence it would take to plan all that before hand because they were after all just a bunch of blood thirsty Indians after all. And we all know Indians were never very smart, right!

Seriously tho, when you give them due credit it isn't that far fetched that they meant everything they did and got it right. The fact that their calculations are so accurate, even to this day, shows just how smart they actually were.

They remind me alot of the Egyptians, they were math genius too. They invented surveying for cryin out loud. Not to mention the whole pyramid thang! Those shafts in the Giza Giant are directly in line with parts of orion at important(to them) times. Way cool. We would use a computer to do that today. They did it on papyrus!

No. I'm pretty sure the Mayans were human sacrificing idiots who got ran over by European superiority.

Then our soft, weak minded American/Canadian rebels came across this stupid thing later and were like "OOOOH LOOKIE... WORLD GONNA ENNNNNNNND!"

Their culture didn't offer anything someone else in the world hadn't already figured out.

Except a ridiculously retarded numbering system, though we nearly matched it with the old English measurement system.

In argriculture alone they were WAY ahead of their time. You should read up on that. To know the past is to understand the future. Those who ignore the 4th dimension are doomed to be swept away by it.

That's a pretty harsh statement comming from somebody that fakes the high road with words like "over-generalizing" and such.

I'm starting to think you're just a ticket puncher.

I made you feel something didn't I! Don't front. You know I wormed my way in!

Lee Chiang Po

The entire thing is in reference to a 26,000 year cycle of earth wabble. Look back and figure just how many times this wabble has started and ended over the past billion years. We seem to still be here kicking it. Each quarter cycle takes about 6500 years, and this is likely why we are today starting to see a more rapid global climate change. The wabble changes the distance between the northern and southern hemosphere and the sun. This was aparently known by the mayans, but seems to be something newly discovered by the modern world. True or not, it is just crap I have read.

Actually not too far off. lol

The world ending is an idea forwarded by one author back in the 70's.

The truth is, all is mind. We create the world in which we live. We create war, we create hunger, we create oppression and we create evil. Our actions are what opens the petals of the unfolding flower that is our reality.

There is only you and your thoughts and behaviors and of course, everyone else and theirs.

Small minds resort to war. Small minds resort to killing the voice that dissents.
The more love you put out into the world and the more effort you put into developing your personal integrity and leading by setting as sterling an example as you can the better.

The more we support people who take up the helms of political and other leadership who are easy to vilify and spark to negative actions against entire populaces based on what their leader has done, the more we will see continuing failure.

There is no profit in endless war and endless distrust and spying.

Ultimately, if we keep going the way we're going, then none of us will have to worry about any of that because we simply won't be here. Our collective minds will have destroyed us all because we keep investing in fear instead of love.
