Finger tip push-ups could have serious detrimental effects on acupuncture points in the finger tips and even place undue pressure (if the routine is over a long time) on nail points too. The "Ten Draining points" of the finger tips could receive stagnation if this exercise was done persisitently and thus make people more open to the inability to expell excess heat from the bodies Jing-Well points. This could be very bad for especially if these exercises are done during the Summer periods as the Ten Draining points are also important for sorting out Sun stroke and extreme heat conditions.
