Hi,
has anybody ever seen some (southern) kung fu style or form using the twin halberds: 双戟 (and my be even knows an online video ) ? Is this a traditional weapon at all? I haven't even found VCDs with this weapon.
Thanks

The Nam Yang white crane guys use them. It's just a form of axe at the end of the day (halberd=poleaxe, therefore short halberd=axe), indeed one of my junior classmates uses them instead of axes as they're lighter.

You'll find shuang ji (twin halberd) by Ding Zhifei on my DVD Shaolin Trips: The First World Traditional Wushu Festival (http://www.martialartsmart.com/dvd-gc001.html). It's the complete set, five demos in within the Competition section.

It doesnt looks for me like a Southern set, but at least the weapon you are looking for. I have seen John Barbary performing a Southern Double Axe Set.

Shouldnt the techniques be similar except of course the twin halberds can be most likely used with both sides ?
Kind regards,
