is the second book of martial arts fiction by Arthur Rosenfeld...the sequel to the Cutting Season. This sequel was superior to the first, in my opinion...Rosenfeld is a gifted writer and martial artist. He is a long time practitioner of Tai Chi among other arts and has written non fiction books on dealing with chronic pain.

The protagonist is Xenon Pearl, a neurosurgeon, motorcycle enthusiast, and lone wolf avenging martial vigilante. He was raised by his Kaifeng Jew Chinese Nanny who taught him gong fu, chinese medicine, and instilled his sense of righteousness. It is also mixed with flashbacks of past lives, his reincarnations...that break with the traditional mold.

There are some great plot twists, exceptional dialogue, good use of wit and a non traditional story line. It flirts with Showtimes' Dexter character but with a distinctly Chinese flare. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fiction. I can't wait for further installments.
