While browsing through youtube looking at various Lingnam styles of kungfu I came across this style called "Zhu Jia Jiao" which has startling resemblances with Bak Mei as is well known in the west. Are these arts related? And what does "Zhu Jia Jiao" actually mean?

Here are the links:

ZhuJiaJiao is the name of a town, but it could also be Zhu Jia Jiao = Chu Gar Gao, some kind of southern mantis.

From Youtube:

Zhu Jia Jiao (Chu Gar Gao ) = Nam Tong Long (Southern Praying Mantis)

But judging by the Tiger claws that they are using, it appears closer to Bak Mei than Praying Mantis.

Anyway, there is another style "Li Gar" which seems to have a lot in common with Bak Mei. And this is also a Tiger based style, not a praying mantis style.

This is really interesting. Could it really be true that the name "Pak Mei" was in fact given by Chueng Lai Chuen for the styles that he himself had learned and some of which were based on these styles like Li Gar?

Sometimes, certain styles share so much that it is only a certain distinction or "flavour" that makes them difference.
This is usually due to a common "root" that has sprung out many "branches".

The second Youtube clip of Zhu Jia Gao :

The form strongly resembles the Saarm Jin Yui Kiu form (2nd Form) of Chow /Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis of the GM Lao Suei lineage.

Chu Gar Gao was supposed to be a different line descending from Chow Ah Naam (founder of Chu and Chow Gar).

Bak Mei is a sister style of Southern Mantis and probably shares the same root.

Chu Gar Gao,Sarm JIn Yui Kiu form (same as your second link):
